i'm sure CCP will block any information if this was indeed caused by pilot suicide. they want to paint a rosey picture in China, everyone's happy blah blah blah. watch them stir up anti-American sentiment by blame this on Boeing.
I expect them to use this as an opportunity for their domestic airlines to buy more COMAC jets instead of Boeings.
yeah definitely, with CCP you just can't rule out if the crash was not an "accident".
could have been those infamous Taiwanese Nazi Hackers

I wonder if they were able to recover the black box....that thing look like it took one hell of an impact.
I saw a report they have found one of them.....but it is so damaged they are not able to tell whether it is the flight data recorder or the cockpit voice recorder.

I’m guessing it was aliens. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
The China Eastern Airlines plane crash that killed 132 people is believed to have been caused by an intentional act, according to U.S. officials who spoke to ABC News.
The Boeing 737-800 passenger jet was flying from Kunming to Guangzhou on March 21 when it plunged into a mountainous area in Guangxi, China. All 123 passengers and nine crew members were killed.
The officials who spoke to ABC News point to the plane's flaps not being engaged and landing gear not put down. The near-vertical descent of the plane, they believe, would've required intentional force.
The plane slammed into the ground with such force that it created a 66-foot deep hole in the ground, according to Chinese officials.
Investigators also looked into one of the pilots' personal lives and background and believe he may have been struggling through certain issues right before the crash, ABC News has learned. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

There's a special place in hell for someone who can't be bothered to commit solo suicide and has to take 130 other innocent people with them.
I agree.
Almost no other job that I can think of should require a more thorough background check to make sure there are no obvious psychological flags.
This has happened a few times now and as you said is really tragic for all the innocent people killed and their families by an intentional act. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny

Absolutely evil levels of selfishness involved in such an act. There are dozens of ways to quietly take yourself out without inflicting pure terror and death on dozens of innocent strangers, or your coworkers who have invested trust in you. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

One theory is that the co-pilot wanted to take revenge against the airline. Seems like this co-pilot used to be a captain, but something happened and he got demoted to co-pilot and his salary dropped by 75% meaning he was only making 1/4 of what he used too.
So this was an act of revenge.
Quote:
According to Captain Byron Bailey, a Chinese aviation source had told him that one co-pilot was once a “high time captain” but had been “busted back to co-pilot.” So his payoff dropped to a quarter compared to before. And this is obviously the loss of face and the shame.
The veteran pilot explained that that’s why this co-pilot decided to take revenge on China Eastern.
A Wall Street Journal article in March, citing Chinese state-run magazine Phoenix Weekly, confirmed this information. The article identifies the captain as 32-year-old Yang Hongda. Meanwhile, the first officer is 59-year-old Zhang Zhengping. Zhang Zhengping is a five-star pilot nearing retirement.
According to a profile published by China Aviation News, the industry’s official newspaper, Zhang Zhengping was among the first batch of pilots to be trained to fly commercial aircraft in China.
He had logged more than 30,000 hours of flying time “without a human error” and trained more than 100 captains for China Eastern, including the captain Yang Hongda.
On his last flight, Zhang Zhengping took the role as co-pilot, while his student, Yang Hongda, was the captain.
