It seems you just read the title and came to your conclusion, but when you read the article, it says he turned it down because wants to coach his sons at Michigan.

After the incident with Juwan Howard and the assistant coach at Wisconsin, I don't think they want to associate themselves with him. Not yet.

The incident

Yeah that’s disingenuous from the OP. It’s pretty clear he’s staying because he’s going to be coaching his sons.

Doesn't seem like it had anything to do with the Lakers. He just wants to stay at Michigan, where he is coaching his sons.

I’m sure that there were other coaches who preferred to stay where they are. That is normal.

Nope, you are totally wrong.
All coaches aren’t going to say yes. Duh!
He’s got a good gig and needs to redeem himself after losing his cool.

It's no longer the attractive job that it used to be, given the rampant mismanagement and depletion of assets in recent years.

Two things can be right.

Current Laker job is not as prized as it once was. How could it be given the marginal competitiveness of the roster, lack of assets to fix it, and the multiple conflicting dysfunctional relationships and personalities involved.

Howard just had a really good excuse to avoid stepping into this mess.

You guys realize Juwan already rejected any nba offers right after Vogel's firing right?

This isn't new or news worthy. Why do you people constantly give clicks to clickbait media?

Too many people reading into this one. "college coach staying at alma mater to coach his two sons" isn't a headline worth discussing.

Are people really this desperate to crap on the Franchise they supposedly root for? There's plenty of legit things to discuss and complain about, no reason to use blatantly click bait esque trash like this. Guess what would happen with any other Franchise asking for an interview..... The exact same answers since Howard is clearly not leaving right now. Lakers are just doing there due diligence to check all options.

Lakers will be fine, they currently have aging and always injured superstars with no depth so obviously they aren't going to be at the top of the list for some Coaches.. That's kind of obvious isn't it? We could very well see a complete 180 after next Season with so much cap space disappearing and zero bad contracts on the books. It's a scary job to take for any Coach since on top of what I said there's a huge chance we will be seeing a big time transition period for the better or worse and Coaches know they are usually the first to be replaced in these scenarios as the Franchise wants to start fresh unless it's one of the select few great coaches which none are available currently anyways.

Hate it or love it the Lakers swing for the fences at Championships not home grown perennial Post Season teams. We all hear how amazing the Warriors Franchise is but guess who the only other team is in the last 15 years to match there Championship total of 3 is?.. Not bad for a horribly run Franchise....

Can't say I blame him. As a college coach he probably commands far more respect in a college basketball setting than as a former NBA player trying to get a bunch of grown ups with their own agendas and egos to play as a group.
