I don't think shooting was ever an issue

The main issues were rebounding, free throw shooting and turnovers

Monk: Not for the MLE. I actually think he played well offensively because he got minutes. With a healthy squad and his minutes lower cuz of his lack of defense, I don't think his numbers will be as good looking.

Melo: For the vet min, but he should never play center and never next to Lebron as the 2 bigs.

Bazemore: Naw.

Ellington: Naw.

I still believe Baze didn't get enough of a chance. I would bring him back and let Ham work to utilize him correctly and give him a legit change.

And I want Monk back, but we need a legit wing. Would rather use what little bit of cap we have toward that. Hoping we can get some semblance of wing depth back in a Russ trade. That's my prayer at least.

Tough times for sure.

Monk is important to keep because he is a major spark plug off the bench, a great 3-point shooter and a great finisher on the fast break.

Not everyone needs to be an above-average defender. We also need to improve a lot on offense, and offense and defense are equally important.

Melo definitely needs to go though.

Melo for the minimum (or 120% raise from last year) playing ~15 minutes a night is pretty much the only one I'd go with. Monk with the MLE would be a luxury and we have bigger needs. Baze and Ellington are end of the bench guys and I think we learned from last year that we're better off stashing younger players with higher ceilings there.

If the Lakers are serious about getting to the playoffs and contending, they might be able to afford to give minutes to one negative defender at most. As much as he sucked last year I’d rather bring Bazemore back at the minimum than any of the others at their projected market value, just based on the fact that he has a pulse defensively on the wing. But I wouldn’t care if none of them returned.

Monk should not be prioritized unless it's the MLE, which he played himself out of for sure.

Melo, only if Monk is gone because I am 100% in agreement with LakersMD that we can only afford 1 negative defender and that eliminates the other 2.

If Monk and Melo bolt, I take Bazemore as the consolation prize at the min because he is slightly better than Ellington on D.

If none of them return, I don't think that is why were not winning a ring next year.

I’d bring back Monk and Melo but not for defense lol, they’re that 2nd unit microwaves. Dwight too but he’s the back up, maybe 3rd string big… on a min, that’s ok.

Can a mMLE and 6mins get this:

Westbrook-THT-Bonga
Nunn-Monk-Reaves
LeBron-Stanley-Melo
AD-Markieff-Wenyen
Demarcus/R.Lopez-T.Bryant-Dwight
