He's playing for 6 million.
I mean... sure with hyperinflation looming anything is possible... but I think even with inflation it's hard to see anyone paying Schroder 20 million per year unless he has a huge comeback season. |

He made $16m in his previous contract. He screwed himself by not taking the Lakers deal and then wound up in a market where there was no cap space that could be spent on him. He was traded twice in that previous contract, his contract would have been movable.
I doubt he gets a similar offer to that now. He screwed up. He had the ideal situation where he could have been overpaid due to the Lakers cap situation and he got greedy. Now no team has his bird rights. They'll have to sign him with cap space. So he'll likely wind up on an MLE level deal and by the time that expires and a team has his bird rights, he'll likely be too old to cash in. |
