I moved to the Bay Area 5+ years ago and work with countless Warriors fans on a daily basis. There is only one person I work with that is a Celtics fan. I'll take the Warriors winning it all any day. Yes they're a cocky bunch but let's see if they can sustain it over a longer period after a string of very good luck. Until then, it's easier for me to just tip my hat to them. With the Lakers not looking close to #18 any time soon, I couldn't bear the thought of being one down to the Celtics again for what will probably be at least several years.

How could anyone really not like the Warriors as a fan from the outside looking in, they are so fun to watch, and it's 1000000000000² better than having an offseason where Boston is the Champ.

Reasons why I like my Warriors...

1. Warriors are a California team
2. Curry respects Lebron and the Lakers, unlike many of these younger teams
3. Klay is the son of Lakers legend Michal Thompson
4. Toscano is the first Mexican to win an NBA title
5. Payton Jr has ties to Gary Payton, who was a one-time Laker and always respected Kobe
6. Steve Kerr is on the left side of things, hates Trump, and is 100% for civil rights
7. Warriors are not (bleep) talkers and have never diss'ed my Lakers
8. They took out the hate Celtics, denying Boston (one of the most racists cities in the US) a parade
9. They are somewhat of an older team, closer to the Lakers in maturity than other Western teams
10. It's Lebron fav team, other than the Lakers

Yeah, Draymond is such a prick that it's easy to see why a lot of people don't like the Warriors. That's reason enough, honestly. And I can also see why many people wouldn't like Steph, either. He's a showboater for sure, and I could personally do without the pointing to the sky routine every single time he puts a ball through the basket, even on a free throw, plus the careless mustard-is-off-the-hot-dog passes that lead to too many turnovers. I can see why his style would rub some people the wrong way, even if he's obviously an all-timer when it comes to his greatness on the court. I don't have a huge issue with Curry, but I'm just saying that I can see why some don't care for him, at least on the court. I think there's also some residual effect of acquiring KD, which honestly turned the league into something pretty boring for those 3 years. There was no intrigue, except when KD and Klay suffered catastrophic injuries. I think some fans just thought it was cheap and didn't want to see them win again.

But Warriors or Celtics? I mean, come on, that's an easy call. Only team I would allow rooting for Boston over is the Clippers.
In a Celtics vs Clippers final...still rooting for Celtics to lose. Nightmare final scenario though.

Dear gawd, imagine Ballmer just spazzing out on the sidelines. It'd be insufferable but you are correct, Celtics still gotta lose.

I would take any other team winning the title over the celtics, not even a close call.

Crisis avoided. Good outcome to this series.

Now fix this mess Lakers.

Just my opinion but the San Francisco Giants are also a California team and I’ve disliked them since I was ten years old. The Clippers are also a California team.

In response to #7, Draymond talks more (bleep) than entire teams. Remove Draymond from the Warriors and the team becomes a lot easier to like.

Why would this bother you even one single iota?

I have a very difficult time finding anything to dislike about the Warriors.

Draymond Green with his attitude and he is a dirty player that likes to kick people, Curry with his constant showboating and flopping. I laughed when Curry got shoved to the ground and got up complaining to the refs when they didn’t call anything. Maybe if he didn’t throw himself to the ground so much when there is no contact, the refs would have taken him seriously.

Curry likes to throw his entire body back into the ground after shooting a three. He does it often enough that it’s annoying. I always wondered if it cost him in a series against the Clippers years ago. The refs held their whistles and they are going to know he does that move, so Curry just going to the ground doesn’t prove anything.

And how often are guys really knocked to the ground shooting a three?

Draymond is a punk, he's basically a fisher/Horry/Fox type player acting like he's super important when only his yelling at the refs keeps him in the limelight and for some reason they treat him like prime MJ with the no-calls.

and plus living in the bay area, the hate from all the bay area fans for the lakers was immense throughout the early 2000s so I'll always root against them

Curry/Klay are cool but bay area fans saying Curry is top 10 is something I wont agree with unless he wins a 5th ring. then top 10 is possible and they can bump out Hakeem or Bird.

agree with giants. i don't hate on GSW because
_ they were playing celtics
_because when they weren't winning they were a really fun team and baron is my guy. Plus Kerr is from pali.

No one is hateable IMHO on that team.

I will say I admire Curry’s aggressiveness and the way he plays with no fear, and is a serious threat to score from anywhere. His shots look so difficult and he is so good at them. And he releases those threes so quickly which makes him hard to guard.

And obviously Klay is fun to watch too (both the real Klay and fake Klay).

Poole and Wiggins were fun to watch too.

LBergJr,

This has been a HORRIBLE Laker season, but the Celts losing in the Finals on their own court was SWEET!

I don't like the Warriors, but I will take them 100 x over the Celts!

Boston winning was NEVER an option. I don't mind a well run organization's fans bragging about their team that has earned it after everyone counted them out. I do mind any success the Boston Celtics have. So I am celebrating this

The Warriors are annoying also, but once this era is over they will go back to their regular role as an irrelevant franchise like the Bulls pre-Jordan and post-Jordan.

I was getting concerned, but thankfully Boston reverted to form.

And the Spurs post-Robinson/Duncan days.

I don't know. I can NEVER root for the Clippers. Celts have won before, and I NEVER, EVER want to see the Clippers win anything! That would be a SUCKY series for me--but I would probably rather see the Celts beat the Clippers-but that MIGHT be the ONLY scenario I would EVER root for the Celtics---maybe???

The pollution and the stench from the Clippers being in the same city as the Lakers is bad enough. And now they are moving to Inglewood down the street of the Showtime Lakers?? Blasphemous!
