Ironically the asterisk thing started with the lockout shortened season when the Spurs won (and Phil decided to tweak them), so it is mind if karma that it comes up, but every team had to go through the same thing, and as others have pointed out it was a tougher road, not an easier one. The huge advantage to the Lakers probably was the layoff before the bubble as it allowed AD and Bron to both be healthy and fresh, but that’s true for other teams too.

I wonder how much not traveling helped LeBron and AD.

I know my back gets jacked after sitting on a plane for a few hours

Sure, but not traveling wasn’t an advantage specific to the Lakers. Nobody traveled. It was an advantage afforded to everyone equally, unlike certain disadvantages that were unique to us.

Jimmy Butler benefitted the most from not travelling.

Fortunately there's a simple solution (in theory as opposed to practice):
Just win more championships.

And as time passes most won't remember or care as long we pile them up with 18, 19, 20...

Yep. Phil used to tweak the Spurs about their first chip but 20+ years later and a few more rings for them and no one even gives it a thought.

There's an even simpler solution: Don't give a crap about anyone who believes the championship was a lesser accomplishment because of the conditions under which it was played.

Honestly it was different, not easier or harder. There was no home court advantage. This meant it was more about talent. Lebron and AD certainly welcomed the long break but every team had the same break. I think the teams that did well had good team chemistry, which was important when you are away from home so long. The 2011-2012 would fit the same bill as a strike shortened season.

It was easily the most difficult championship for a team that fought to have home court advantage. #1 seeds (Lakers) lost in that arrangement.

unless you look at it through the lens that ad/Bron cant stay healthy and in fact flounder when its a regular season.

Every team had the same opportunity to win. The Lakers won, there is
NO asterisk.

agree. Just like SAS doesn't have an asterisk.

Facts are Lakers won the bubble title.

Also fact is that when faced with a normal season with bron leading us we have 2 lotteries and a 1st round bounce.

Both true.

94 ft of hardwood, I don't think anyone can make an argument for a team that was better that year.

That simple, Lakers played with the rules given. I get that it's fun to say Bubble or Micket Mouse championship.

But with basketball knowledge, make an argument for who else had a better team that year.....

no one doubts that. What people hate to admit is that without the luxury of a 4 month break or a season way outside of the norm, bron has led us to 2 lotteries and a 1st round bounce.
