So unlikely, but if we were able to move off WB and bring in Kyrie I would be all for it. I'm not sure what we'd do with the rest of the roster, but I think that version of the big three, while not perfect, would work much better than the current version

lol both Bob Myers and Joe Lacob have already preemptively started saying NO to making some high-level trade/acquisition for next season.

But anyway regarding Kyrie possibly coming here =

Only way he would is if enough in the media adamantly declared that he would NOT. Then he might, lol.

Yeah need a Nets media plant to start raving "Kyrie needs to SHUT UP and take the extension the Nets are so generously offering him"

The cool thing about this rumor is it would take a Chris Paul veto to stop it is Kyrie and the Lakers mutually want it. Kyrie just opts out and Westbrook gets stretched to give Kyrie the 10 mil, which would be not THAT much more than he lost in his antivax stance.

If Russ opts out... How much can they give Kyrie, assuming he opts out too?

Like 20 mil?

We won’t have cap space would we?

I believe if Russ opts out it puts us down to about $99m team total salary. So project cap increase to $122m... Give us about $23m cap space?

Not if tht and Nunn still on squad and add cap holds

This shows about $146.5M with Westbrook/Lebron/AD/THT/Nunn/Reaves under contract... Russ opts out put us at about $99.5m?
https://hoopshype.com/salaries/los_angeles_lakers/

U need to add cap holds for 8 guys I think. Then it's much less

Yeah i think we have ~13 million in cap space if Russ opts out (ha) and we renounce everyone else.

That's a huge paycut, and considering how much he cost himself last year, i don't see it.

Sources: Kevin Durant is monitoring the Brooklyn Nets’ situation and considering options with his future.

This now opens the path for Kyrie Irving to proceed on finding a new home via opt-in and trade.

Based on what other team’s fans in r/ are putting in the trade machine for Kyrie:

- Lakers: WB, picks

- Clippers: Kennard, Morris

- Heat: Lowry, Herro

- Mavs: Not interested.

- Sixers: We getting punk’d?

If KD becomes available, send AD and half dozen picks to the Nets.

Bron + KD = GG for the league.

Shams: Nets have until June 29 to come up with an opt-in and trade scenario to get something back from Kyrie who will now proceed shortly into finding a new home.

A few things to note:

Opt-in & trade is the best solution for Ky & the team trading for him
- they don’t have to get hard capped to trade for him
-Ky can activate a 15% trade kicker that will not only increase his annual pay this season but will impact the numbers on his extension which he will be able to pen 6 months after the deal. Regardless of him waiving his trade kicker or not, Ky can only pen an extension 6 months after the trade.

S&t on the Nets side will not hardcap them but will hardcap the team trading for a S&t’d Ky.

BYC will not apply since Ky won’t be getting greater than a 20% raise if he opts out and participates with the Nets to conduct a S&t.

An extend&trade is not really an option cause it still does not benefit the team trading for Ky (they wound still be hardcapped) and Ky gets less of a bag going this route (3yrs max w/5% annual raises vs 4yrs w/8% annual raises).

If we can somehow turn Russ and THT into Kyrie and Seth Curry I’d have to say OMG that’s a big win.

Just gotta figure it out on the defensive end but scoring won’t be a problem that’s for damn sure. No more crappy Russ mid range bank shots or THT going 0-7 from three.

werd. I'd definitely take a Seth Curry. I've been saying that for a while. I won't put any hopes into that yet but that'd be dope.

We’d be giving up the best player in this trade (by far). I’d rather just keep AD and get rid of Westbrook some other way.

Yeah, I feel like we'd be taking a ton of risk. He even said the appealing thing for the Nets would be if it doesn't work out they just have a massive expiring contract in Russ and then, oh yea, Anthony Davis.

AD + KD would be terrifying.
