An Illinois native and 1-year Michigan State product, 19-year-old Max Christie is a 6’6’’ former McDonald’s All-American with two-way upside and a nice shooting stroke.

May he not lose his shooting touch under the LA spotlight. And I’m most eager to see examples of his 2-way-ness.

LA Twitter saying that this means THT is getting traded.
THT might get traded but Max Christie will likely be in the G league this year. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

Would agree. Don't think they trade a future pick and $2.7M in cash to put the guy behind Westbrook/Reaves/THT/Nunn.
That’s the only way I could ever justify this pick. If it means Westbrook and THT get traded. Otherwise this is a complete waste since on this current roster, he won’t see any playing time. _________________ Darvin Scam: https://media.tenor.com/images/3c15249955860a4b16b59e8ae035fb75/tenor.gif

Do you honestly think that Max Christie should be expecting meaningful...or any, for that matter...minutes on the floor, during this upcoming season? Seriously? The only playing time he's going to see a lot of is as a part of the LA Defenders. MAYBE gets some garbage minutes, if he gets called up. He's a player that the Lakers are looking to develop. Not some sort of impact player, that's going to crack the rotation. I'm not expecting another Austin Reaves situation.
Instead of projecting these young kids to explode onto the scene, just give them the space/time to develop. Also, I don't believe this pick has any impact on THT, Nunn, or anyone else. _________________ ZOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly, the (bleep) a 21 year old THT gets and your gonna put in a 19 year old who shot 31% from 3 in college in the LA spotlight with this fan base?

Solid pick. I don't obsess over specific 2nd round picks as the hit rate is too low to pretend like we can tell a difference. All that matters is if there's real tools/potential there. He's 19 (super young), strong pedigree, flashed defensive potential/willingness, good stroke and a high FT% (which correlates more to NBA shooting than actual shooting%). He's got about as much potential as anyone else at the point (and I'm not worried about a future 2nd rounder for similar reasons, all low % shots).

I like his defensive potential and if he lives up to his EARLIER shooting potential then he is a solid 35th pick.

I like this pick. His NBA comparison is Kevin Martin. His first 20 games in college he avg 36% from 3pt until he had a slump. He comes from a program that preaches defense. I’m saving the receipts _________________ Coach Vogel, Kidd, Hollins
