Mo Brooks offer is a joke, this is not going to happen this way. Everyone gets deposed in private first. Then if the committee wants your public testimony they call you. It's not open-mike night.

Quote:
No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen @NoLieWithBTC

NEW: Mo Brooks just said he will testify before the January 6 committee if his conditions are met: It must be public, the questions must be about 1/6, the questions must be from members, documents must be disclosed ahead of time, and it must occur while the House is in session.

One of the reasons these hearings have been so effective is because there haven't been Republican toady buffoons interrupting every 5-minutes with their lying clown show. How many time would they have said, "HUNTER BIDEN'S LAPTOP!" by now?

By sad, do yiu mean glad that a domestic terrorist was put down like the unAmerican dog she was? She (bleep) with Uncle Sam and got what she came for.

But you knew this.
Calling a veteran unAmerican is disrespectful even if she did trespass a federal building and was killed for it. Calling a woman a dog...wow!

So military experience precludes terrorism, in your mind? I didn't mean to call her a dog. Most dogs are worth more than that. Scum, rat, schifooza, bullet sponge...more apt terms.

BTW almost every southron who took behind the confederate flag against the United States could be called a veteran. The word does not indicate valor and honor like you want it to. And unfortunately, the USA was unable to show all of them the bayonet, like we did your girl Babbitt. Piss on her ashes. Piss on you, for gaslighting god knows how many people like you're trying to do here...
You come off has very disrespectful. I'll maintain that serving in the military is noble. And I'll also maintain that while she committed a crime this was an excessive use of force. She was unarmed like almost everyone there. Funny that right wingers wouldn't bring their firearms to an "Insurrection."

It was NOT an excessive use of force. Crazy Lady thought because she had a vagina, that police officer protecting our public servants wouldn't blast on her. She FAAFO.

When those Q-Nuts busted that window, and the cop pulled out his piece pointing it straight at them, ALL THE MEN stopped dead in their tracks. All of them. Q-Nut Barbie was the only one who kept going, which is why she was the one who got walked off this earth.

- There were armed insurrectionists on Jan 6.
- They were aware that DC has very strict gun laws and therefore most left the weapons in Virginia and other places.
- An insurrection doesn't need guns to be an insurrection.

Did you see Rep Loudermilk.. Video of himself at the insurrection showing how he had taken a large US Flag and sharpened the tip down so he could stab cops with it

If I see a group of people that look like MAGATS who are going to do bad (bleep).. I go the other way

I still want to know why they chose those capitol hill officers to get beat up that day.. Whoever scheduled them knew they would potentially get beaten to death.

I think you are exactly right. The narrative on the right will be "Dems and their sham hearing" and none will be swayed from digging in on the right. Moderates will say, "both sides are the same and we just had four bad years with a dem".

The (hopeful) and likely outcome of this is that Trump faces actual consequences, but DeSantis picks up the mantle and then there's a greater threat to deal with who doesn't have all of the baggage.

Sadly, this is absolutely the best case scenario—and obviously it's not good.

Yeah, but our side has been aware of what’s going on for along time now. Those kinds of ads certainly won’t hurt, but those who are inclined to vote, regardless of which side, are already locked in. I wish I saw a big game changer that would actually create a blue wave at this point. The one hope I am clinging to is the vast numbers of youth who are coming of age in next two years. I think this is one of those generations that is intent on making a difference.

Young people talk a big game but when push comes to shove, no matter what, they never seem to turn out to the polls. Universal vote by mail might help that, but even in states where that's a thing, that demographic still lags behind others in voting turnout.

I’d be inclined to agree but for my experience with my kids (21 and 18). They and their friends are incredibly aware of what’s going on politically and socially and make efforts to be well informed. They are always eager to get their votes in. I think that awareness and eagerness is much more widespread than it has been in the past. It’s a hope for sure, but it’s also belief based on what I see happening.

I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be

Love these ideas. We need to scare swing voters and let them know that voting for conservatives has consequences - horrible consequences.

I've never understood why Dems are afraid to run attack ads like that - is it because of our side's tendency to have more empathy?

Combine these scary attack ads with positive, optimistic ads that talk about the good things that candidate will do, and maybe we can actually expand our advantage in both houses of Congress this fall.

He scares the (bleep) out of me, because latest polling is showing that he actually leads Trump head-to-head and is a better matchup against Biden. A lot could change in two years though.

Trump had a reality show for 10-years so he had 10-years to get in people's heads and project a fake persona to them as if it was the real him. And love him or hate him, and I do hate him, no one else in GOP has a tenth of his charisma or is capable of developing a cult who literally thinks he's the next Jesus sent from above. DeSantis is a shrewd, scary politician, for sure. But the Trump cult can't just be bequeathed to the next guy -- especially if he gets on Trump's bad side and Trump trashes him to his cult. It's a long way off. Who knows if we'll actually have free and fair elections in 2024?

The Trump cult can't be bequeathed to the next guy, but Trumpism can.

The fear is that someday, whether in 2024 or later, there will be a tyrant who is like Trump but doesn't have his weaknesses who will become president and truly undo our democracy.

It's something journalist David Cay Johnston, who has known Trump since the 1980s, has warned about for the last few years.

Maybe, in a way, we got lucky with Trump since he has left behind so much evidence of all of potential crimes and misdeeds.

Well, steph, it might look rude to someone who subscribes to that automatic veneration crap demanded by every cheap enlisted man who overachieved by graduating high school. It makes total sense on their end, because it entitles them to elevated perceptions of their character earned by a few good men, while allowing them to avoid rigors much more demanding than falling in line and eating and sleeping on the taxpayer's dime. Even under that low bar, Babbitt fell short. The DoD frowns upon its own employees using force to attack our national seat of power. She lived dishonorably, she disgraced her country, and died a loser, and a chump, stevie. And one of the funniest things about her death is that in her final moment as a human, she observed a real American service hero fulfilling his duty by by putting one of our bullets into an enemy of the state.

She died for nothing. People like you can't even extract value from her sedition by martyrizing her on internet forums without immediately marking yourselves as clowns. She took the (bleep) bird express straight to hell.

What was the purpose behind mentioning that she was a small business owner? Might be time to ask yourselves why all of your foremost statesmen are worthless hucksters. Are we supposed to revere that like it's another layer of clout? That she sold things? Lemme guess: pillows

Yep, I'm worried about that too. I'm worried about living in a country with 75 million angry brainwashed people who are filled with hate and who are completely out of touch with reality. And to make it worse, they believe that *they* are the ones who see reality and it's the rest of *us* who are just liberal sheep who want to destroy America. A good portion of those people are deep down the Q-rabbit hole. I don't know how you bring those people back to reality. My hope is that where Trump was able to galvanize them all under one umbrella, others won't have as much success. I personally believe that we can't afford to let *any* Republican retake the presidency, especially if they win the House and Senate. Then we'd be entering permanent GOP authoritarian rule. We might already be there with gerrymandering, voter restriction laws and their new tactic of placing party loyalists in local election boards so they can try to steal any election they don't win. I think November is almost the last chance to put a brake on their runaway fascist train. Democrats would have to keep the House and win extra seats in the Senate to compensate for Manchin/Sinema. Then they'd have to immediately pass their two voting rights packages that would outlaw most of the Republican shenanigans being implementing in the states. And hope that gets us back on track for a somewhat "free and fair" election in 2024. That's a lot of dominoes.
