It's about that time, so I figured it may be a good idea to get an early start on it.

It begins: https://twitter.com/Lakers/status/1563307594038407172

With an open roster spot, training camp should be interesting.

PG 6'3" 22 year old Scotty Pippen Jr. (TW)
PG 6'5" 25 year old Javante McCoy

SF 6'9" 23 year old Cole Swider (TW)

PF 6'8" 24 year old Fabian White Jr.

C 7'1" 24 year old Jay Huff

One of the two-way contracts could be converted to a minimum contract like with Austin Reaves. Cole Swider has that opportunity if he continues his summer league shooting. We can then carry another exhibit 10 player on a two-way contract. Or maybe one of the exhibit 10 players wins a minimum contract.

Thought we had two spots after the Pat Bev trade.

Curious to see how Max Christie does with professional strength training and conditioning. He has the mechanics down but got pushed around too easily in the SL. Obviously he's 19 and Lakers seem to view him more as a project.

With two roster spots open, then Cole Swider and Jay Huff. Scotty Pippen Jr should go to the DFenders.

The three choices would be Swider, Huff, Pippen obviously. Swider is a MUST regardless of whom the second one is.

According to Spotrac Lakers have 18 players today; just 1 over the total
HC required. And if they come up with another 2 for 1 they'll be there.

Of course, a Russ trade changes everything...

Looking forward to seeing Lonnie Walker in training camp and preseason I heard he’s been doing really well in pick up games throwing down thunderous dunks and making 3’s.

I much rather hope and dream that some young scrubs will develop into decent players, than watch over the hill stars and vets who think they are still good. This is my silver lining I suppose.

LeBron’s pre-camp to be in San Diego starting on 9/22. Training camp starts 9/27, presumably with media day falling on Monday, 9/26.

We had two spots open then we signed Dennis. That leaves one more spot and they probably won’t fill it. Probably leave a spot open for the buyout market.

Juan Toscano-Anderson says that Darvin Ham gathered his team in the film room for a meeting before their official practice (and Ham’s first official practice as a head coach). JTA says Ham presented the group his β€œnon-negotiables” in laying out his expectations for the year

I love it!
The "non-negotiables" to me:

Rebound, defend, move.
