I've seen enough of Bev to know how important he is down the stretch. Im honestly shocked we're taking great defense for granted when we witnessed 5 matadors on the court last season gold fish memory i guess.

Bev was huge this game. Stats might not say he was but down the stretch he was huge.

He's doing amazing for his age.

He's just not a dominant player any more.

I mean if CJ can block him... it's getting closer to the end.

You’re totally wrong.
He can dominate anytime he wants.
He’s sick and has a really sore ankle.
Can still play-make, score and block shot.
He’s not 100% and he’s not 25 but he’s not washed.

I see, so he's been letting teams win those first five games.

I am not going to argue with you. Lebron hater, I get it.
First 5 games, some were close, offense struggled but defense was good.
Lebron was putting up 25.2 points a game during that time.
Lakers offense has struggled, that is why they started 0-5.
That’s on everyone, not just Lebron.
Hey, I was frustrated at some of his hero ball shots at the end.
But, I know he was trying and not 100% today.

Nope, just not a LBJ dick rider.

What part of amazing for his age did you not understand?

He will still win some games... he's still better than over 90% of the players... he just is showing his age... and it's not just this game.

He's now among the mortals where he used to be above everyone.

If that's a hater... then sure I'm a hater.

Fair points, but your comment is a little contradictory. You say he's still better than 90% of the players, but he's no longer dominant and showing his age? If by closer to the end you mean years remaining versus how many he's already played, you are absolutely correct. But if he is indeed still better than 90% of the players (I say it's more like better than 75-80 percent), that says he's still pretty dominant.

He used to take garbage teams to the final.

Right now he struggles to win with AD, Lonnie and Russ all playing well.

He's great for his age... he will win us some games... but you can't count on him carrying a team anymore.

It’s really unfortunate we got Lebron in his last few years in the league. It’s almost surreal to see how much he looks mortal now. He’s been a destroyer of worlds for so long its just so weird to see him in this declined state.

Oh well. Just keep pushing forward lakers and we’ll see what happens

I am by no means downing on Bev and do not want to trade him it would be nice if every once in a while he did actually hit a shot

If he had some fundamentals he could go into the post and play there. Didn’t he work on his footwork work Hakeem? Never seen him make any post moves.

He just doesnt have the stamina anymore. It takes a lot out of his legs to bang with others down low. Thats why he just hangs around the perimeter and settles. If the game was 5 minutes long he'd be fine

We need more Russ and less Bron. Save bron for 4th quarter

Evidently a lot of folks missed this in the first quarter. His foot has been the reason he's been on the Injury Report this season (although they have not been specific about what it is).

Per Buha

LeBron James is sitting to the side of the Lakers' huddle with his left shoe off. He's been battling left foot soreness. Appears to be in some pain.

https://twitter.com/jovanbuha/status/1588000412723949569?s=46&t=HqDLzBdpd6TYnq3Y-Y9AwQ

Foot injuries suck. Put some titanium in there Lebron.

That's the same foot he rolled vs the Nuggets last game... He used to play through those like nothing. But with his age those starts to linger and don't heal as fast.

Regarding Lebron, I think it would be wise for us to draw up some plays for others while he recovers, his ISO game is very bad now, hasn’t hit a jump tonight, we really don’t have an ISO player since everyone has flaws. Would love to give LW4 some shots too.

Yep, I enjoyed this win... and I hope we can keep our pick close to the Pelicans so they don't screw us in the draft.

We are 7 games in. Huge difference from Start of the season Lebron compared to Mid Season Lebron. An if we can get there Playoffs Lebron.

Sure he’s in Year 20 but I’m not buying into that he’s Washed quite yet.

Oh I agree, both have their positives. Just not quiiiiite sure I see a capable contender yet

Our backup wing and big depth is still an issue of sorts. Now this could change with Bryant coming back and Wenyen getting back a bit of a jumper. Definitely need to give the current squad a good sample size, but there’s a bit to play out

Bron just said Zion’s strength is like Barkley and Shaq. Huge compliment coming from LEworkout James.

Hopefully Zion don’t eat to many Shaq Papa John Pizzas and Sir Charles Krispy Kreme’s glazed doughnuts. Or since he’s in New Orleans hopefully not too many visits to Cafe Du Monde for their famous Beignets 🔥🔥🔥

Great win, Lakers! Way to tough it out! Love that even when the odds were against us, they didn't give up! Definitely wouldn't have (and didn't) see this kind of fight, last season.

As far as Pat Bev goes, I'm also of the opinion that him being an absolute offensive void, works against his defensive gains. Max Christie has the same ability to stay in front of his man on the perimeter, as Pat Bev, and he has size/length. The only thing Bev has over Christie is vet experience. Or, maybe even give Nunn a chance to redeem himself, by taking Bev's minutes.

But, we're winning, so if Hamm stays pat, I can't be mad. Just my own musings...LAKERS!!!

Did he played against Barkley? I don’t think so.
Lebron is still a freak, I don’t think Zion backed him down with any success.
