(Sen. Coons: Russian Aggression ‘Directly Or Indirectly The Cause’ Of Deadly Blast In Poland)

Quote:
Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) joins Andrea Mitchell to discuss the political implications of the deadly blast in Poland that NATO reports did not come from Russia, but from a Ukrainian missile defense system. “We can't lose sight of the fact that it's Russian aggression that is causing this whole problem, this whole challenge that is directly or indirectly the cause of two Polish citizens being killed,” says Coons. “I am so hopeful, Andrea, that in the next few weeks here in this lame duck session, Congress will again support President Biden's initiative and authorize an appropriation of additional funding for Ukraine's fight.”

Mid 80s Lea T FTW.

They named the Saddam capture op "Operation Red Dawn", btw. I think those op codenames are mostly garbage in US parlance, but the Britz use ones that actually mean something. It's like the name Butch. I'm American, our names don't mean sh.

(How will Ukraine survive attacks on its infrastructure this winter? - BBC Newsnight)

Quote:
Ukrainian air defence systems were activated on Tuesday when Russia launched what is believed to be its biggest wave of missile strikes since its February invasion, targeting cities from Lviv in the west to Chernihiv in the north.

The attack, which occurred during the G20 summit in Indonesia, caused an international outcry. The capital Kyiv was among the cities hit, with officials saying at least one person was found dead.

In recent weeks, millions of Ukrainians have intermittently been left without electricity and water as Russian air strikes target vital infrastructure. Rolling power cuts are also in place to avoid overloads and allow for repairs.

Some 40% of Ukraine's energy system has been damaged or destroyed by Russian attacks on power plants and lines.

Newsnight’s Diplomatic Editor Mark Urban explores what support Ukraine needs from the West to survive this winter and avoid an exodus of refugees.

(Bodies of tortured civilians found in Ukrainian city of Kherson - BBC News)

Quote:
More than 60 bodies with signs of torture have been found in the recently liberated city of Kherson, according to Ukraine's interior minister.

The discovery follows Ukrainian forces retaking the city from Russian forces, who had held the city for the last eight months.

Investigators in the city say they have discovered "illegal prisons and torture chambers" they claim were used on civilians and Ukrainian officials who protested against Russia's occupation of the city.

Moscow has strongly denied committing war crimes during its invasion of Ukraine.

I GUESS THEY COULDN'T GET THE WINDOW TO OPEN

Quote:
A high-ranking Russian army colonel with ties to Vladimir Putin’s mobilization efforts for the war in Ukraine died under mysterious circumstances this week.

Col. Vadim Boyko was found dead in his office at Makarov Pacific Higher Naval School on Wednesday, local news reported.

Early media coverage, including a Telegram post by the Far Eastern Gazette, described the incident as a suicide. “[Boyko] came to work and put a bullet in his temple,” the initial post read.

A similar post from BAZA — an outlet with ties to law enforcement — questioned the suicide scenario, noting that witnesses heard five shots coming from Boyko’s office.

He shot himself in the head FIVE TIMES . . .

(Millions without power after Russian attacks on energy infrastructure in Ukraine - BBC News)

Quote:
Around 10 million people are estimated to be without power after a bombardment of attacks by Russia on energy infrastructure across Ukraine, says President Volodymyr Zelensky.

It comes as the first snowfall of the year hit Ukraine, adding to already mounting concerns of a tough winter ahead for Ukrainian citizens.

Drinking water supplies in some areas of the country are also understood to be affected with Russian artillery hitting gas fields, industrial areas and residential buildings.

Bunch of traitors.

It's not like we're literally shipping pallets of $100 dollar bills to Ukraine. We're basically giving them our surplus equipment and munitions, things we'd have to retire eventually anyway, and in exchange they're destroying and exposing the military of our greatest geopolitical foe of the last 80 years, and it's not costing a single American life.

Not just traitors, absolute idiots.

Russians are tough. Modern day Rasputin. Note in The Sopranos, they left the Russian getting shot in the head open-ended. It's for reasons like this guy.

Quote:
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has advised Ukrainians to consider leaving the country to relieve the pressure on power networks before winter sets in.

"Put simply, this winter will be about survival," Dr Kluge said.

When Russia started to restrict its supplies of gas to western Europe, one of the most affected countries was Germany.

The country is heavily dependent on the fuel - and initially struggled to find a replacement.

Germany has not only managed to replenish its stored gas, but has also built its first terminal for imported liquefied natural gas - in just 200 days.

Israel to Russia: We’ll supply ballistic missiles to Ukraine if…

Quote:
Israel has issued an ultimatum to Russia: if Moscow does not stop buying Iranian weapons, be it drones or missiles, Jerusalem will seriously consider supplying Kyiv with high-precision ballistic missiles. The Israeli media also wrote about this ultimatum, and in an extended material, the topic was touched on by the Israeli TV channel Kan-11.
