We have talent. We can blame everyone but there is one reality.

This is ADs team. He doesn’t have a healthy reliable running mate. Of course if you stack our team, like every team with all stars or borderline all stars we would be better.

Our fate is signed for 3 years. Next year we loosen up a bit, but when your “alpha” (lol) is broken down and misses a quarter of the season every year he’s been here there is little that can be done.

Even though I have fallen back in line with AD and his greatness our best move would be to move him for picks and youth we won’t get gobert haul but close would be best for us.

Our 3-12 rotation isn't very good

We're trying to put players above their level that should be 6-15. Imagine if Walker, Reeves, Schroeder were 6th, 7th, 8th instead of 3rd, 4th, 5th.

We'd have to get three starters for that so:
Bev/Nunn/FRP for Turner
WB/FRP for Rozier/Hayward/McDaniels

Turner(4)
AD(1)
LBJ(2)/Reeves(7)
Hayward(5)/Walker(6)
Rozier(3)/Schroeder(8)

Bryant(9)/McDaniels(10)/TBjr(11)/Gabriel(12)Christie(13)/JTA(14)/Jones(15)

Change McDaniels to Oubre and this would be so perfect.

…you know what? If this happened, I would be all for it. Roziar, Hayward and Turner all together would actually be total game changers. Especially if we can grab Oubre too.

Finally, someone out here actually thinking logically.

Rozier/Reaves
Hayward/Walker
Lebron/Oubre
AD/Gabriel
Turner/Bryant

I agree.

Reaves, Walker, etc. are great players. But we need better starters

To me, this just shows how flawed the FO's logic was in the Sun series. We had this AD ripping the Suns apart. Instead of building on the team they had which was already in the playoffs, having lost AD/Bron for half the RS season, as soon as AD picked his game up in games 2 and 3, the series tilted in our favour.

A lot of people thought AD wasn't that guy, but he was. He's the guy that if on a good team can be the difference maker of the team being a good team or a ring team. He's that good. The issue is that Rob took a good team around AD/Lebron, and made it a lottery team. Last year's team was the worst group of defenders a GM could put together, and this year it's a group that just doesn't have enough offense. Too much 1-way thinking in his moves.

All we need is a team that is good enough to be a balanced 2-way team, and then hope/rely on AD peaking at the right time with Lebron (such as happened in the bubble). Unfortunately, we blamed it all on the coach ..... and overlooked the talent we had around AD/Lebron and their roles.

That said, if AD keeps this up all season and can stay healthy, I do think we will be able to get into the play ins. But asking AD to play like this all season and stay healthy, not realistic.

That Suns series was 1-1 with the Suns leading at the half of game 3 when AD was hurt. I don’t see how anyone can say that the Lakers had momentum when he was injured. It was very tight and either team could have come out on top.

Lakers were up 2-1 in that series. AD got hurt in Game 4.

Actually it's more than that.
In the first year of AD and Vogel, we built a team with an identity.
It was a defense first, physical, slow team. A team of behemoths. And it came together pretty nicely. We can talk about bubble and so on, but even before the lockdown we were pretty good. We just defeated Clippers and Bucks and were the first in West. After the bubble there were articles about the resurgence of big men after years of small ball (Davis and Jokic were amazing).

Even the moves in that offseason made sense. We needed another ballhandler after Rondo left. We wouldn`t want Lebron to handle the rock alone for over 35m at 37yo. In this regard Schroder`s deal made sense, even if it turned out pretty bad. But the idea was correct. In Pheonix series we were 2-1 against them and were the better team before AD injury.

The real catastrophe, the most stunted move was Westbrook deal. We ignored all the red flags (and there were many) and in the end all the negative predictions were true and even more. We that deal we lost a few core players and because 3 bloated contracts we had no possibilities to upgrade the roster.

Lakers were up 2-1 and completely demoralized the Suns on game 3

They definitely had the momentum. They had won the previous two games, and taken home court advantage away against the higher seed, with game 4 being played at home and them leading the series 2-1.

The Lakers had already stolen home court advantage in game 2. AD had 34/10/3 in game 2 and the Lakers won by 7. AD had 34/11 in game 3, and the Lakers won by 14. AD was obviously hurt already in the first half. Suns did lead at halftime... By 4 points, after going on a 5-0 run in the final 1:30 of the first half of game 1. Even with a hobbled AD who only gave them 6 points on 2-9 shooting in the first half. Once AD was done, the Lakers were done in that scenario. Lebron wasn't quite right in those playoffs, and the Lakers role players (Kuz, KCP, Caruso) were terrible in the series. Nobody could hit a three pointer.

The fact people are saying "Yeah but the Suns were leading at the half." against AD and LeBron if AD never got hurt, as if that was some kind of guarantee that the Suns were going to win speaks volumes.

Look at who wrote that. It should answer all.

Anyway, I have zero issue with someone believing the Suns win that series with AD. That's fine. Maybe we drop it a 7 gamer. Can't say for sure, but I do know that we had the level to beat them and compete with contenders like the Suns when AD was playing at that superstar level. Now, even if we get superstar level AD, we're struggling to be a play in team. And our executive who created this mess got a 3 year extension from Jeanie. We deserve better, and a player as good as Lebron and AD deserve better.

All that said, I don't have any issue with trading AD, but by keeping him, all it's doing is make me think "What if" and stuck in mediocrity.

Ant Davis became the third Laker to score 30 or more points and grab 15 or more rebounds in four consecutive games, joining Elgin Baylor and Shaquille O'Neal.

Who cares. He was hurt. He’s missed half of the seasons last two years. Bron has missed tons of games 3ofthe 4 years he’s been here and has started this year the same. We only know AD being hurt and bron too. Their only successful year was when they didn’t have the typical wear and tear. I have more faith this year in AD but bron is done.

If the Lakers go on a run soon with hopefully new pieces coming via trade, it would be a exciting feeling if AD ends up being in the MVP conversation

His biggest enemy has always been his health. If he can stay healthy, he can win DPOY

He still runs like a lean gazelle, but he also looks like he's learning to fall without it looking awkward. He's got to play with a sense of conscious control over those falls he's going to take.

Too bad he doesn't have the balls to call out Bron to feed to him more, Bron lied to him that the offense is going through AD and he passing the torch to him.

That 4th quarter would certainly lead you to believe that he's chasing the scoring record.Smh, uncharacteristic of Bron to play like he did in the 4th when the team was moving the ball and has such a big lead.

If Bron keeps this up he’s either delusional or he’d rather chase records than get wins.

It’s obvious this team needs AD to be the focal point to be at its best
