*puts out hand next to ear*

What was that? Let them walk in favor of signing an overrated 3rd star in their 30s? You got it!

That’s pretty much me and a good friend of mine’s relationship.

Him and Gabriel are definitely bros.

If they both continue to play well, it will be interesting to see what offers they get.

We should take Westbrooks 47 million and give it to Reaves

Man for undrafted guy he is absolutely amazing. I just wonder what kind of stupid decision Lakers will do to lose him. They love to move good reliable players and not to pay them.
Austin should be kept no matter the cost. If it means paying 15mil in tax pay it Jeannie. These players are crucial to win in long term.
Just remember DFish , one of the most reliable players in history of the franchise. He was never the best, never the best shooter or best defensive player but he was crucial. Austin can be the same, if not better version.
Austin is 24 now, give him 2 or 3 years and he will be fantastic team player to have and only 27. This is how Lakers need to build the teams and not to bring bunch of guys each year.

He'll end up a more impactful player in this league than Caruso, I'm convinced

Still has a higher ceiling to reach as a scorer and ball handler. Can defend well enough, too. We better keep him long-term

Both can defend well but reaves can read the offensive flow

Alex is a way better defender.
Austin is a way better offender.

Would have loved to seen both in the backcourt simultaneously. Austin the more rounded guy but Caruso more elite at the thing he does, and they would complement each other.

They would have been the most likeable white duo in the league.

Mr. efficient. I’m fully convinced the only reason he’s not starting is due to that cap hold rule for next season.

As in Darvin doesn't want austin to show out in a contract year? Makes sense. Ham loves him some AR15!

I was talking about the scenario where if he starts more than 40 games his cap hold is about $2.2 million more than his cap hold as a non-starter I believe.

I have never heard anything about a cap hold being affected by how many games a player starts.

Since Reeves is an early-bird free agent, his cap hold next year will be 130% of his current salary.

Since he currently makes $1.56 million, that would place his cap hold at $2 million.

As an early bird free agent, he is eligible for a contract with a starting salary up to 105% of the league average, or about $12 million.

I think the “starter” criteria depends on whether the lakers will treat him as a RFA or a UFA. Pincus describes it in his tweet here:

He deserves the full 12 million now especially with the cap increase, let alone if he further improves on this trajectory. I have bad THT contract flashbacks, but it's not really similar. Reaves is an older player that's proving he can contribute consistently.

I was looking for him to add a mid-range and floater game because he's been prone to overpenetrating or relying too much on the pump fake close to the rim, and he even showed those two elements today. I'm not sure how deep his bag goes, to be honest.

I bet we’re gonna see more of his bag this year. He’s growing more confident each game as he realizes he can hang in this league.

You love to see it.
