He has his pros. I'll try to be as "objective" as I can. His playmaking is invaluable. When he subs in, he quickens the tempo as our starting group is a bit slower paced. He has been our 2nd best (in a group with TB/Dennis too, but I have to put Russ ahead) player since AD has been out.
But my main issues remain:
1. he's a 15m/year player. That 32m delta between actual salary and production salary is killing us in terms of fielding a balanced team.
2. he's better with just LBJ, or just AD, but not with both. He doesn't fit with them and when it's in crunch time, bad things happen. Ham has shown that he will bench him, but it's not a given Ham will make the wrong decision and let Russ close too.
I don't think the Lakers will consider trading him (though they should). I think that letting his 47m deal expires makes them luxury/repeater tax proof next season, which seems to be a priority. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

He's been a solid player off the bench, and when he plays well, we're a better team. I see it a lot like the Melo situation last year. When Melo went off, we were really good on offense. But Melo came with warts and we were never a truly dominant 2-way team with him on the floor.
A team with AD/Bron/WB, I think the same thing. We'll never be a dominant 2-way team. They're doing what they can, with what they have, but to win in this league you need length (long arms), 3 point shooting, defensive IQ, and good team chemistry on offense. Don't see how this will happen with this group.
Yeah MLE to 15M is about right. This is what I think he'll end up getting in the summer. Credit to Russ at least he salvaged his career and will be seen as a credit to a team's bench. |

the big question with him this summer is whether he will balk at being a 6th man. It's one thing to get paid 47m and accept that role b/c you need to rehab your value heading into FA, but it's another when he is now considered a bench player by the league.
Like the old maxim that once a player accepts a minimum deal, teams will start only offering minimum deals. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Russ doesn’t help himself with the defiant bull (bleep).
It’s just who he is and we should have never traded for him but it is what it is and next time LeKlutch shouldn’t be so dead set on the idea of any “name” player who has become an expendable jumping from team to team. Hopefully they learned that lesson. |

I no longer see him as a spark off the bench, or a guy that enhances the bench. He really is just trash for this team.
- has bad IQ.
- bad shot
- bad shot selection
- leaves his man open almost every time
- shows zero care in his performances or lack there of. I guess when you’re getting paid $47 mill, nothing else matters anymore right?
Honestly, I hope he gets traded but in a small deal where we don’t deal away first round picks. A similar small deal like Rui. And when I say “small”, I mean it where we don’t have to go after the bigger names like Bojan, Turner, Hield, etc. Just somebody else where I don’t have to see Westbrook in a Laker jersey again. _________________ Darvin Scam: https://media.tenor.com/images/3c15249955860a4b16b59e8ae035fb75/tenor.gif |

He's playing like he always has. He will have his ups and downs, but when you look at the sum, he is a negative player. He is downright scary at the end of games. |

He's a child. I mentioned this two games back about the way he and Bev interview. It just reflects so poorly on them even though they don't think so. They should do better as humans, but won't. |

You see something new every day. |
I would not be shocked to see Russ or Pat block someone’s free throw attempt this year. |

Depends on your perspective. If you have disdain towards sports media as I do, it's pretty easy to understand why they wouldn't want to interact with them in any manner other than that of confrontation.
I can't blame them. When you see content like what Plaschke writes, why would you want to answer his questions? (he's illustrative here - wasn't actually present in interviews like he once upon a time was) _________________ Author of James Harden and the Strip Club

Known Fact:
WB plays too much "hero-ball." He should never be on the floor during crunch time. |

Those OT plays stood out a bit. He misses the open 3, and then he passes up the next open 3 and drives past Al only to be rejected by the ... rim.
Ouch.
Lebron had his hands up after he got rejected by the rim - like Russ find me bro, I'm open at the corner. |
