Lakers GM Rob Pelinka fights through tears at Vanessa Bryant's trial over Kobe crash photos

Fighting through tears, Pelinka paused for at least 30 seconds before answering.
“He’s still my best friend,” Pelinka said. “And I feel so grateful. Being friends with Kobe was like having a true superhero as your best friend. He was incredibly loving and courageous. … And a day doesn’t go by where I don’t think about how grateful I am to be chosen as the person who walked side by side with him through 20 years of his NBA journey.”

the confusion and loss never stop... just see this title or the crash photo one and I realize I don't know how to deal with Death very well.
Could you imagine being a woman who was already married to Mr Perfect.. and now there is nothing that could ever come close to feeling right to have next to you... and you have to go to court to find out why some people couldn't raise their children right - sharing photos of a mutilated baby child and her father to look cool is abhorrent

Spectrum did something worthwhile and replayed a LAL vs MEM game before Pau was traded to us. They both played very well but Kobe went Super Saiyan on it and got the Lakers the W (tight game tho 121-119 came down to the final plays)
NBA TV is playing a Kings-Pacers game from 2001 right now. Have it playing in the background and suddenly the announcers (who I can't recognize) go on a tangent about Kobe.
One of the announcers says that "Kobe is the best player in the world right now" and the other announcer concurs. They then mention that (paraphrasing) "in the Lakers game the other night, Kobe made three or four plays within two minutes that only Michael Jordan could also do in the history of the game."
Did not realize Cedric Ceballos is second cousins with Kobe. Teammates too during the 1996-97 season...too bad we never really saw how Ced could fit with that group as he got injured 8 games into the season and then immediately traded for Horry.

"This pain is unimaginable [but] you just have to get up and push forward," she said in PEOPLE's Women Changing the World issue. "Lying in bed crying isn't going to change the fact that my family will never be the same again. But getting out of bed and pushing forward is going to make the day better for my girls and for me. So that's what I do."

Vanessa told PEOPLE that "Kobe and Gigi motivate" her to "keep going," and her other three daughters help her "smile through the pain."
NBA Fans Emotionally React To Kobe Bryant's 3-Year Death Anniversary: "It Still Doesn't Feel Real"

“And I just like, start shaking Bron, like, ‘Wake up! Wake up!’ I remember the first thing Bron said to me was, ‘Man, y’all stop playin’ — like, stop playing with me. ‘And I’m trying to get on the internet. And Dwight, like, you can see him start crying. He was like, ‘It’s true.'”
