Lets play the what if game
what if we don't make the playoffs?(reality)
what if we win the lottery?(slim chance)
what if oden declares?(reality)
which of these two players would you want more and why?
the thing is these two guys have exactly what we need
durant is a proven scorer that can hit an open shot and create his own
oden is the defensive presence we need in the middle

Oden, it's not even close imo. While I like Durant and he does have the potential to be a very unique player, he still has some things he has to overcome before he's dominant. You're guarunteed a pretty good big man with Oden I think just with his size, length, and athleticism. Then you take into account his bb iq, work ethic, soft touch, and maturity you have the makings of a future great center. We need the inside-outside game like we had with shaq, we could then trade Bynum for a scoring pf or a true facilitating pg.

You have to select Oden. He's the best player available and he plays a position difficult to fill. Having two very big and athletic centers gives Mitch a ton of leverage to start dictating terms on any deal that could come the Lakers way.
