Because isn't he going back to school for his senior year? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Yes I believe so.
Anyway ... you can see his athletic limitations even in the highlight video. But the guy is smart and can really shoot, so I imagine he has a future in the NBA (or Europe, if not) regardless. |

He can be a Ryan Anderson kind of player off the bench with his ability to stretch the floor. Probably an 8th man off the bench kind of guy. Smart player, his dad is the coach at Creighton. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

McDermott's redeeming feature is that he's a good rebounder and he's strong, plus has a strong work ethic to possibly gain a little more weight to help him out. Tough player too...
Can you get away with him as your PF on defense? Can he win the battle on the offensive end more than the other guy can on defense? |

I'd rather have a guy that is a little shorter in the post and may need some help in post defense than a guy like Anderson that is too slow in guarding the P and R.
Sczerbiak? Perhaps. Wally was pretty good at one point. |

I CANT see greateness in a guy that cant defend. unless the guy is 6'10 or at least a crazy passer like larry bird. but he doesnt seem to be that either.
if he was a dirk then sure. but when you're 6'8 without any real athletic ability, you're not that tall in the nba. now you have to play SF. you will get destroyed at that position unless you luck up and end up on a team with a great TEAM defensive concept so they can hide you.
i really like this guys game but he's just not tall enough to me to get away with the lack of athletic ability. nor does he seem like a great facilitator either(luke walton type but with more offensive game. that could work. but the passing is missing thus far).
he will still be in the nba cause he is a bucket getter. and he can shoot well. _________________ LAL4K3RS wrote: He(Kobe) is the white haired kung fu master that you realize is older than dirt but can still kick your arse when in a sitting position drinking a nice herbal tea. |

Doug McDermott would have to play the 2 or 3 which has become one of the most athletic positions in the NBA. No THANK YOU!!!!If he could play the 4 spot in the NBA then I think he has a chance. |
