I hope we purchase an additional first and a second round pick. We need young talent badly! We also need cheep players. It's going to be a long day until the draft :-/

Agreed malicious.

I think we can get a good player at #7, but I wish there was a scenario where we could trade it for two picks between 10 and 20. I think there's decent talent to be had in that range, and two players would be a big boost.

Who do you guys want at 7? My heart is set on smart or Randal. After seeing Randall's shoot around with the lakers I'm convinced he will be a star and smart will lockdown the top PGs

I'd be happy with Randle or Smart. I think they're both smart, safe picks in that range. Everyone else that I think will be available at #7 are in a grouping lower than those two.

Exum
Smart
Randle
Gordon
Payton

In order, for now, until I change my mind again.

I keep forgetting Payton had 50% of his field goal attempts at the rim and got to the FT line equally as often as Smart.

Nice, seems like we are all pretty much in agreement. I watch most of smarts games at okst but I haven't seen much of Payton. I think I would stick with smart since u know what to expect from him even if he never fixes his shot

i'm right where you are Mike. which is what makes me so nervous. even during the bynum draft. i had my eyes on "some big man"(drew) and Gerald Green aka "our kobe replacement"

Lavine is also on my list. and he's guess who? Gerald Green aka "our kobe replacement"

Smart = rodney stuckey or better? we dont know. he's a better floor general then stuck for sure. do i want to waste a 7 pick on a slightly better stuck? not really

will exum even fall to us?

Gordon cant shoot to save his life. and the fact he cant shot ft's is scary to me. people dont go from really bad ft shooters and bad shooters to solid shooters and 70% ft people. it doesnt happen.

now that guy can still impact the game. but never has the lakers had a core piece have a flaw that obvious. unless it was shaq. and we know gordon and dominant shaq.

but i do like gordon's game. i cant lie about it. we need that athleticism so badly it isnt even funny.

why cant that guy have a solid mod range jumper and a 72% from the ft line. thats all i ask MIke.

Lavine is all athletics but doesnt like contact... he could still end up being ray allen. ray allen had a nice handle at uconn, and was a scorer/shooter. he never really LIKED contact. he would occasionally show people he had serious hops every blue moon and dunk on someone.

so if lavine became ray ray.. i would love him at 7.

if lavine became crawf? but i passed on exum and exume becomes penny. i will be ticked off.

to many what if's.

what if we draft vonvon? and he turns into a slow motion solid player. but here we go again with a less hyper athletic big being ran around by other super athletic bigs. i'm sick of seeing it mike. lol

then i saw something in payton's eyes. he reminded me of Nick the quick. the good and the bad of nick. lol. i wouldnt mind a prime lakers nick at 7.

especially with payton's defense.

Randle. the safe pick. could be prime larry johnson. will that game work in this league of hyper athletic bigs with super long arms? can he slow any other big down on defense?probably not.so that means he better be dropping a cool 18 per with 10rebs per.

to cancel out his opponent.

If Rodney Stuckey played D and stayed motivated, he'd be a hell of a player.

Gordon simply lacks touch.

LaVine, mentality.

Vonleh, like Gordon, needs to work.

Smarts defense alone makes him worth the 7th pick. Randle is athletic enough to stay in front of his man, but he will never become a lockdown defender. I can still see randle avg 20 n 10 as a rookie for the lakers! I used to think 15 n 10 until I saw him hitting those jumpers inn his laker workout. Changed how I felt about him because if he's hitting that shot nobody can stop him from getting to the rim.
