If Brooklyn wins with a "big 3" I expect LBJ to leave and form a big 3 in Oakland. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”
Who quit on the team?
If AD wasn't coming back we had ZERO chance
Then don't say you can carry the team on your shoulders if you have already mentally decided you won't. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Similar to Harden. 1 year left on the contract. Expressing that the team "ain't enough".
Curry, Thompson, Bron seems like the obvious big 3 competitor to Brooklyn. And LBJ left CLE twice. He has no loyalty.
He'll say "I'm glad I brought LA back to where the belong, championship contention". And "now I'm ready for the next chapter". "Glad I won the chip for Kobe".
People act like he's super loyal. I guess if BRK doesn't win he'll stay. But he won't stay otherwise. He needs 2 other stars for a 5th chip. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

We have no conceivable way of adding another star.
Then look at what happened to our roster vs. his last year in CLE.
And then come to grips with the very real possibility he leaves... And in htat case. Brow leaves not to long after. Hopefully we get lotto picks from their exit. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

He's not going to another team due to family reasons.

Keep in mind. I keep saying. "If Brooklyn wins with a big 3".
That's the key. If they do. KD wins this chip. And the next one.
THEN, LBJ is gone. He'll force his way out to Oakland.
I think that's why we're seeing the Lillard things on social media. He wants his own big 3 NOW (Him, Lillard, AD). And that's practically impossible with our current assets. I don't think it's possible.
And I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves a year from now for Oakland. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”
This "LeBron is too old stuff" is an interesting narrative.
I also think it is flawed logic.
He was the best player in the league last season in the money games and was in my opinion the MVP front runner this season with the Lakers as a 1 seed until he got hurt.
A healthy LeBron is the least of my concerns about this team.
except that it's not a narrative.. Lebron is getting old.
all this reminds me of KAJ, in the twilight of his career... Lakers were able to get Magic, then Worthy back then.
Lakers have AD now, who is talent-wise looking like the next best player in the NBA, except he can't stay healthy enough to complete a 82 game season plus playoffs.
AD is not the most talented player in the NBA. That would be Kevin Durant. AD doesn't even crack top 10. Just doesn't have that drive
I'm going to be devil's advocate here. The man is 36, going on 37 next season. It is at this point where decline really sets in and if you pay him max, we may end up regretting it. The last few years in a rough and competitive West he has been injured 2 out of 3 seasons whereas the "healthy" season was that COVID schedule delay into the bubble.
I won't downplay what the man has done for us since joining us but if you're asking me whether I want to max him at 37, I'm going to say no.
Lebron is already set to receive the max for the next two seasons.

You think Durant is more talented than Doncic and Jokic? _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

If we don't have one of the two or three best rosters in the NBA next season, I can totally see news reports at some point that LeBron is thinking or planning on joining _____ team in 2023.
It's happened at each of his last 3 stops. A year or two before he can become a free agent, a news report comes up saying he might leave soon, and that reports lingers and festers until he leaves.
In some ways, LeBron is a wonderful human being, but he's also self-centered and has no loyalty. He's a one-man corporation, and he leaves his teams as soon as they go from the favorites to simply one of the best teams in the league but not the frontrunners.
We need to have a strong offseason, otherwise LeBron may mentally check out and lose his motivation to get us another championship.
He is too big to give exit interview or what? Its s shame what kind of leadership he shown this year. All the players gave their comments on the season except Mr.King.

Chill dude. What do you want him to say that hasn't already been said.
You're just trying to cause some static where there shouldn't be.
Season is over. We know what went wrong. LeBron doesn't have to give another play by play on why this season sucked.
Are we forgetting what transpired this season? Our 2 superstars have been hurt for the majority of the season. Hell Lebron looked Meh in our 2 wins aswell. He clearly wasn't 100% Anybody who has had an ankle injury that is severe knows how painful it is to play on. Dude needs months of rehab and rest. We had less than 30% chance of winning the chip this year with all these injuries. Our chemistry was wack all season because of it.

What kind of leadership has he shown? What has he done negative as a leader this season apart from leaving the game early in the playoffs? Dude played his best basketball without AD until the injury.

I agree. These one-liners are meaningless. It’s the same bs as when D’Antoni said, “the season starts tomorrow” like somehow magically your season was supposedly going to instantly turn around. Or LeBron saying “playoff mode activated” like it’s Avengers or Transformers. I’d rather he say, “weird (bleep) happens, but we’re going to give it our best effort and try to win.” I’ll take that over the false notion of carrying the team on his shoulders when he knows he’s not going to or can’t. _________________ "We are the goodest." - Shaq ESPN interview
