Monk is a really nice under the radar get.
Young.
Can hit the 3 - 40% on 5 shots a game
Plays hard on defense, albeit is only 6'3 with a 6'7 wingspan. Best article I could find below was this:

Never imagined they'd grab a young kid like that who can hit the 3. Screw Mills, I like this kid as a fit for now...and the future.

As an fyi, last year Monk had 3 point games of 9-13, and 6-11.

I have not run across an article suggesting horrendous D. Anything you can point to?

His basketball-reference page.
His DPBM was -2.3 and his DRtg was 116 last season, which means he basically was out there with a matador cape last season. His career DBPM is about the same as Lou Williams.

With that said, reading what else I saw it sounds like he can be taught and gives effort.

He got suspended for cocaine use. It would make sense why Charlotte let him go. |
