Only 3 years older than DLO FYI.

I don't think there is any comparison in talent levels... like not even remotely... but he is still young, plays great D, can be a 15ppg scorer, and his shot seems to be improving.

Could have done far worse.

A+ signing given the options available. Major props to Magic and Pelinka for closing this.

So does Avery Bradley but my eye test view Pope as an outlier.

Yep, and let's be real here, if advanced stats were all that mattered, why bother scouting? Both ideologies complement each other. That being said, without even looking at the numbers, he's a better defender than anyone who played the 2 last season for the Lakers. That in and of itself is a big upgrade.

Bravo Maglinka

Best free agent signing we could have made, 3 and D exactly what we needed.

It sucked losing DLo, but given we'll enter this season with a better roster than last season, and also dumped one of our albatrosses I'll give this off-season a B+, could be A+ if the 2 maxes plan comes to fruition.

Lonzo
KCP
Ingram
Randle
Lopez

With a bench of
Clarkson
Hart
Kuzma
Nance
Nance
ZuBryant

I like our team a lot, think we're going to surprise some people

Great addition. I didn't think we would actually get him, especially not on a one year deal. Great signing!

He will get a lot of nice in rhythm open looks from Lonzo.

There is no doubt Lonzo is great at that so I think KCP could very well improve his shooting as he should benefit from some great passes.

I get the metrics and everything, but man, watching him dog Harden and Curry in games tell another story. He clearly has the athleticism to be a lock down defender, granted you won't see him on the wing due to size.

According to the Detroit guys he was shooting over 40% last year until he got an injury (late January?) and seemingly never recovered the rest of the season.

That is not a good thing lol.

Hopefully he and some others can surpass that.

They are both valuable but drawing a narrative on one without using the other is just inconclusive to me.

As far as our prior 2 defense. It's not even close. Im glad Magic are weeding them out one by one.

Creating positive vibes.

That would suck

If we cut him we can re-sign him to the minimum as long as he clears waivers. He makes roughly the minimum now, so he'd likely be open to it
