AD should not be the one traded. Lakers gave up a King’s Ransom for him. Not just for the championship ( which he had a large part in delivering) but also for the future to build around.

Yet he is the one to get traded? Bold choice indeed.

What about Westbrook or James as assets? Prefer either traded to find pieces to fit around Davis.

I know what we gave up but we have to evaluate investment . he can not be #1 dog on a team. he's never going to be healthier than he is on return.

AD gets us the most return. he doesn't stay on the court. Even when he was healthy he was unable to carry us to W's.

IMHO Tatum is there for the taking. I say AD for JT+ for filler.

Pat Riley said better to trade a year early than a year late. We are not championship material right now. Part of that is because AD doesn't play and when he does he's hollow.

By your own criteria James and Westbrook should be on the trade table before Davis.

Westbrook because he is not a leader and has hollow stats way too frequently. With James, doesn’t he define the concept of “ better one year too soon then one year too late” ?

Davis is frustrating with his floundering around and always hitting the floor and grimacing. In this latest extended injury, are you blaming him for a player falling into his leg?
As annoying as I find Davis, he is still a damn good player on “both” ends of the court. His defensive work counts IMO. Davis is the one the Lakers should be prioritizing for the long term. He seemed to play pretty well during the championship run. Maybe he actually can be the franchise player if combined with the right team. I emphasize “team”.

IG, no, you’re wrong. Totally wrong.
You can’t move Westbrook..
Look at the contract?
Who in their right mind would take that on?

This is when you really need to know the math, IG…
Not possible

Not in a million years…

Clipper fans don’t mind dumping there players while they prepare for the summer/next season.. Knicks are open to making moves.. Kings are gonna be sellers.. not sure why it would be shocking to see a move involving Westbrook.. what am I missing here? 1 reason for his lack of consistency is due to fit.. we can criticism him all we want.. but he might end up doing better in a different situation.

no one is giving up much for bron or russ (though I love the guy). AD gets us the most return.

He played well during champ run because Bron had a huge rest and AD didn't stress his body. All off season we heard AD was going for DPOY and that he is top 5. Neither in fact he hasn't played. He wasn't good enough to carry us to some wins while bron was down.

People are in denial if they think AD will be anymore than he is. People love claiming Russ has hollow numbers what about AD? Pelicans? w/out bron on the floor?

AD for Tatum+ ( for salaries) great trade for us

Lakers lose 3 future assets and are salary strapped for the foreseeable future.

This trade is for players whose respective teams openly do not want them as part of the future.

They are still the 3 best/most valuable players in the deal and they are all going to the same team while we move one guy with potentially negative value (Russ) an uninspiring young guy you gotta spend another $20+ m to figrure out what you've got, Reaves and a 1st in half a decade from now. You don't see an issue with that?

Zero chance.

Is there a reason why we valued Ellington over Ben McLemore? Dude is shooting 41% from 3 while Ellington hasn’t given us value in that role

Ja is like a younger AI with better hops, but I am just concerned about the beating his body takes playing like that. AI slowed considerably after his MVP season.

He also reminds me of young D Rose, playing with reckless abandonment going hard at the rim. He's 22 only so hopefully his trainers (and Dad) are getting him to take care of his body.

Just imagine if the Pelicans took Ja at number 1, would have been a crazy fun team to watch

Is this a case of a bone bruise + some other knee issue being attached? There is no way it should take this long.. crazy part is this FO might be pressured to trade him any way and he will end up ballin out with another team because of our stupid medical team

Actually for that team it makes a ton of sense, but it won’t happen because Boston/LAL imo.

Russ is what they need because they have the wings and bigs. They need a PG that can attack…problem is would Russ “sacrifice.”

Don’t be shocked to hear this but I think a LA/Boston trade being done is more likely then the Pacers or Kings, Celtics have traded with us before.. and ironically it was another PG.. Gary Payton got traded to Boston.

This board has been saturated with ignorance.

They used to monitor the stupidity to a degree, but it is apparent that NOBODY gives a (bleep) anymore.

2.0

Illogical

And all the other user names you have have destroyed a once organnized and fun site to talk about the lakers and trade options.

The stupidity of not knowing anything about salaries and playing nba2k22 on this site is just ridiculous.
