Not if the Lakers start playing well with AD coming back

When the Lakers make a trade it can't be to move an A- player for an A player. That's not even going to move the needle for us.

You don't do stuff like "Oh get Ben Simmons for Westbrook.." that doesn't solve anything. It just puts more of an offensive load on LeBron and gives you a guy in Simmons that has no offensive aggression and no three point shot. You are mad at Westbrook for taking threes or being 'too' aggressive at times? You'll see Ben Simmons do the opposite, and also suck at the free throw line. You DO NOT want that.

You do something like landing Myles Turner. THAT would be a difference, as he'd be a major upgrade to both Dwight and Deandre Jordan.

Simmons is a better player than WB and bring something the Lakers dont have, a defensive stopper. He is also more of a potential mismatch and is a threat at the dunker spot, where we try to hide WB.

Lakers can also surround Lebron with 3 other shooters and not play small when playing Simmons. They can’t with WB.

Simmons, Lebron, Grant could be interesting.

I think a Simmons for Westbrook deal is very unlikely to happen. If it does, I think we would have to include our next first round pick, which would effectively kill a deal for Grant. it's hard for me to imagine a realistic scenario where we could get both Simmons and Grant with our assets unless we include AD in some way, which I also think is unlikely.

Seems like are implying trading AD by saying "Simmons, Lebron, Grant."

You have to get rid of something of value to trade WB and if you don't trade him, you can kiss any chance of championship goodbye in the next 2 years.

Giving up a 2027 FRP to just dump him and not get anyone back that really moves the needle is bad move by the FO if they want to win during Lebrons last year. We know AD+ Lebron and this roster isn't going to win much.

Lakers need to think big and try to package AD + WB to really reshape this team. It is pretty much the only way the Lakers can move WB and get players back that can help win now.

The Sixers won't take WB for Simmons, but AD might be enough to get them to part with Simmons and other valuable players. Lakers likely don't want Tobias, so you'd try to get a 3rd team involved.

Simmons, Harris, Danny Green (Ideally Maxey) for WB & AD and then see if you can turn Harris into someone that plays some defense (Grant ideally).

Lakers go from a team focused on offense to a team that will now win with D.

Cut/trade DJ/Baze/Ellington

That really doesn’t move the needle, Draymond is a heck of a player as evident by the Warriors struggles without him but we need more coming back

In all likelihood, I think the Warriors wouldn't do the original deal. Draymond is the glue that makes the whole machine work for them -- even if AD is the better player in a vacuum, Draymond may be better for them on the court. I think they are in love with Poole and Kuminga and see them as key pieces for the future.

To me, it looks like they are competing today while developing their future succession plan with Wiseman, Kuminga and Poole.

The Inspector has been weird lately.

He will do his typical Pollyannish posts, where he suggests trades that are blatantly in the Lakers favor.

But then he will chastise other posters for their ideas, suggesting that all is hopeless in Laker land.

It's almost like two different people are taking turns at the keyboard under his screenname,

And both those people are whackjobs.

I don’t believe for 1 second that we didn’t want to include THT in a Myles Turner trade every single fan base would laugh at us, Lakers right now would kill to get rid of him in a Grant deal or Barnes deal

Dudes bipolar/schizoid for sure. That's probably why he'll never get permabanned, cause of mental health reasons.

I doubt that's going to happen at the trade deadline this year.

More likely, I think the Lakers will fish around for the best deal they can get for THT, Nunn and the pick. And if they can't find a good deal, they will cross their fingers and hope AD comes back healthy and makes a difference.

Making fun of people with mental health issues isn’t funny you already got suspended a couple of times because of getting in trouble with posters and the mods 🤣

Many people close to me have suffered from bipolar disease and schizophrenia, so I don't know throw around those terms around casually.

I wouldn't attempt to diagnose the mental health of an anonymous stranger based on their participation on a sports board.

I use "whackjob" in more of a fun sense of someone whose passions cause them to bounce all over the place as their team does poorly or well.

Mocking Inspectors mental health because he posts his trade ideas and comments on a message board should be a permanent ban.

You all take this place to seriously and feel your “thoughts” are superior.

Leave him in peace and show some class.

If THT is traded for any available big, the Lakers deserve the ridicule.

You just don’t trade any main assets for a big. Jokic and Embiid are not available. The rest are all roughly the same and get played off the court.

No problem. We all go through many emotional highs and lows with the love we have for our team.

This place should be an outlet, not a place where we attack each other.

Yes we do. Not that we will be lucky enough to get him, but is Jerami Grant any good at defense?

Van Fleet in some ways, but the difference is Mo Williams was 6'5" and VF is 6'1"

He was that tall?

Plus, Mo had 6 fingers!
