Yeah, you're probably naive for saying that. I don't get the impression that Irving gives a flip about anyone other than himself. He might say nice things about Kobe publicly, but he'd still be all about himself.
Some of the names that are being kicked around here -- especially Simmons and Irving -- would really test my fanhood. But I survived Westbrook, so there's hope. As a few of you will remember, I was vocally anti-Westbrook before it was cool to be vocally anti-Westbrook. _________________ Internet Argument Resolved |

I just want him on the Lakers with LeBron elsewhere.
I don't think reuniting the two would work.

All the drama he's had in the past & with other teams, I don't think he would have the same issues here in Los Angeles playing for the Lakers. |
Trusting Kyrie over LeBron to carry you to the promiseland? Lol |

He is perfect next to Bron and Davis. Maybe even Westbrook could work in this line up
PG.Brick
SG.Shooter
SF.LeBron

Which team has a better chance of winning a championship?
Lebron in Phoenix (for Deandre Ayton) or Lebron in Brooklyn (for Ben Simmons) |

Whichever. Both trades would suck for the Lakers. _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team ! |

The Warriors stayed the path and didn't make any panic moves when things looked rough after the finals against the Raptors. Klay had back-to-back devasting injuries, Steph and Dray were both injury plagued before this playoff run. They had awful results, but didn't do anything stupid like trade the entire team in an attempt to get a 3rd star.
Even with their high draft picks, none of those guys are the reason why they are where they are right now. Poole was a low 1st rounder. Getting Andrew Wiggins was the result of not letting an asset walk. They went from KD to D'lo to Wiggins. It's amazing how much more useful Wiggins is on a winning team than D'lo is.
Even if we assume the AD trade required all those pieces to go to New Orleans regardless of leverage, the Lakers could've maintained a balanced team with a smart front office.
I really don't want to hear anything about going for a 3rd star. That's not what the Lakers need to compete today. They need a balanced rotation with defenders and 3 point shooting. |

In this make believe world, is it for Westbrook?
Then CP3.
CP3 always gets hurt, but keep Kyrie away from L.A. _________________ ๐๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ #18!!! |

No, they spent $170M in luxury tax alone. Let's stop acting like the Warriors are super geniuses. _________________ Internet Argument Resolved |

That's what has been discussed.
The Phoenix rumor
The Brooklyn rumor (started by you)
Comparing which cast is better; Chris Paul, Devin Booker and Lebron James or Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and Lebron James. |

Wake up bro.
Id only trade Westbrook for Ben.
I would never suggest a moronic trade giving up Bron. _________________ ๐๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ #18!!! |

Windhorst didnโt get into specifics, but this is the NBA. Stars (or close to star-level players) become available all the time. Especially in the offseason.
โYou would need a player, potentially near the end of his contract, to come and say, โI would like to go play in Philadelphia,'โ Windhorst said. โIs that something that could happen? Maybe, weโll see. I know that Philly, and Daryl, are going to try to make it happen.โ |
Daryl, you know Westbrook is a star!
Would you guys keep Westbrook's expiring or take Tobias for $37M+ for 2 years? (Ignore the pick package that's probably required for now) _________________ ๐๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ #18!!! |

Simmons for LeBron wouldnโt do much for the Lakers, unless their is other stuff coming our way. |

Seriously. The two best things that happened to the Warriors were Curry's glass ankles early in his career and picking Draymond in the 2nd round (love him out of MSU and was hoping the Lakers would gamble on him). |

Thatโs my biggest fear, trading Westbrook for Harris. |

I want nothing to do with Ayton as a max/near max player. I'd rather just go with the Mcgee's/Howards of the NBA for vet min. contracts as long as we have AD so we have the versatility especially in the Playoffs depending on matchups.
That's a brutal trade for the Lakers.. You instantly make the Suns very possibly the favorites out of the West and allow Bron and CP3 to game manage during the regular Seasons with there depth. If those two are healthy in the Playoffs that could be deadly with the rest of the supporting cast around them.
The Simmons trade doesn't do much for either team as far as a Championship goes. Bringing Simmons to the bright lights of LA doesn't drown me in excitement at all for the future either.
So basically hard pass on both especially the Suns trade where we basically significantly improve one of the best teams in the West.. No thankssss |
