Be patient w/Russ .... I heard a rumor that if Portland doesn't make progress.

Dame will force himself to LA at the trade deadline, asking the Blazers for a favor.

Dame is under contract for three more years (the third being an option). Don't see how he can force a trade. If Portland decides to trade him, their first priority is going to be to maximize their return for him. Of course, they'd do their best to send him to a team he wanted to go to. But they aren't going to turn down a much better deal from another team, nor should they.

Remember when there was a rumor Dame wanted out etc and he could have gone all in on forcing his way out? Well he didn't. If anything Dame has been relatively quiet.

He's giving Portland 10 yrs, I should have not used the word "FORCE" but "WORK" with Portland to get himself to LA as a favor for the years he gave the franchise.

In detail, Russ has that perfect contract that can match up with Dame. Also, the other reason why the Lakers have not committed to trading any of the future 1st rd picks is because of this scenario that my source thinks is better than 50/50 of happening especially if we start the season w/Russ.

Over the past six months, there have been a gadzillion rumors about Westbrook grades. Dame is nothing more than one of the gadzillion rumors. I doubt it will happen, but as they say, we shall see.

Damian Lillard is going to be remembered for two shots

Houston, 2014

Oklahoma City, 2019

Unfortunately, that's it.

He doesn't want to leave Portland to "win a championship." He has already built his legacy on those two shots, enough to get him on the Top 75.

Meanwhile, Klay Thompson

He wants to stay and get paid.

He plays for checks, not rings. It doesn't take much thinking to figure that out.

Yup. Lillard signed a supermax contract in 2019. It runs three more years, at which point he'll be 35.

He's likely entering the final stage of his career. It looks like he'll stay in Portland, but who knows? Portland could go a number of directions.

I think he was talking about Dame Lillard, not Klay with the last thing he said. It seems his whole comment was predicated towards Dame.

I think the Klay Thompson violin thing refers to Thompson's complaints about not making the 75 year anniversary team.

It's all a little silly. My guess is Dame was in the 75th or 76th spot (there was a tie), and Thompson was right behind him. If one or two of the 88 voters change their mind, the end of the list could have changed. It's only significant because of the line they drew at the 75th spot because the NBA was 75 years old

If this is a remote possibility, I would throw in every first and second round pick available for the next 10 years to make it happen. Lonzo, Lavine, LeBron, and AD are the core of a championship team.

How could any trade surprise you? You propose 50 trades a day in this forum, so you've gone through almost every permutation of every possible trade.
