I should mention during the last trade deadline, Brooklyn wanted to package the Philadelphia picks with Nic Claxton for an upgrade at center. While Brooklyn would be interested in Anthony Davis, it would be for young players, like Nic Claxton, with draft picks, rather than one of their star players.

Or what's he gunna do? Opt out? I wonder if we could trade him to a G-League team for a good prospect.

Kevin Durant apparently has not spoken to the Nets' front office since the end of the season and the team is "unwilling" to give Kyrie Irving a max extension.

I didn't fact check this, but rumor has it that...

Would you rather be the Nets?

Kyrie becomes an unrestricted free agent, they will have cap space in 2023.

Nets and Lakers this season have all but proven that you should never give up too many draft picks for aging superstars. Other than Lebron, any player over 30 shouldn't be making max money. For every Lebron and Steph, you'd get a Kawhi, Harden, Kyrie, Westbrick, Klay.

Let it be known that if the FO had traded THT, KCP, and Schroeder for Lowry last year, both Lakers fans and the national media would be (bleep) on them.

I would kill to have Kawhi and Klay on the Lakers these guys are proven winners just can鈥檛 stay healthy for the long term similar to AD.

Also, with Steph he's had the extreme luxury of always being able to just kind of take it easy in the Regular Season (He did go the hardest i've seen him in 2020 though tbf) and even in the Playoffs he's not consistently the clear best player from series to series let alone every game. That's not to discredit how lethal he can be but it def. significantly helps with longevity.

Bron is literally the only one really especially considering he's been the clear cut best player on his team since his first game in the NBA. Even Bron shouldn't be making max money after next season though imo as he needs depth and less MPG like Curry at this stage of his career.

Lakers at least got Prime AD to pair with him but health wise he's nearly as big of a question mark as any of the aging super stars so we basically have 3 on the same roster with no depth.

It鈥檚 from the Nets beat writer. Harden trade may be a coup.

Yea, I think the Nets got a good deal too.

Brooklyn receives:

Ben Simmons
Seth Curry
Andre Drummond
2022 first-round pick (unprotected)
2027 first-round pick (protected)

Philadelphia receives:

James Harden
Paul Millsap

For those who want the Knicks to be a solid, respectable, playoff team a lot sooner than that, let me introduce you to Pacers point guard Malcolm Brogdon. The University of Virginia alum averaged 19.1 points, 5.9 assists and 5.1 rebounds last season. He shot 44.8 percent overall (31.2 percent from 3) and is a terrific free-throw shooter. Now 29, Brogdon is set to make $22.6 million next season in the final year of his contract. And according to NBA sources, he is available in a trade for the right package, a possibility that has some members of the Knicks front office intrigued if they strike out on free agent Jalen Brunson. 鈥 via Marc Berman @ New York Post

Berman seems to have forgotten about Brogdon鈥檚 upcoming extension鈥.dudes actually on a remaining 3yr deal.

Either way, we already were rumored in a 3way with the Knicks and Raptors this past trade deadline. We were also indirectly part of that multi team deal with Indy for Russ this past offseason, so there is an existing rapport with both Indy & NY. I鈥檓 hoping something can happen where we end up with Myles (along with dumping either Kemba or DRose here).
