The Brooklyn Nets are in a world of hurt right now. Theiir GMs head must be spinning. He just got hit by a 2x4 today.
Na he is the one that started all this with his post playoffs conference
What did Sean Marks say if I may ask?
I’m guessing he was acting as Ownership’s mouthpiece. Doubt he gets any kind of reprimand for that.
But if Marks were to be let go, the Lakers should give him a call. Lots of good relationships around the league. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night.
I know this would not happen but I wish we trade AD for KD, and Kyrie can find his way to us this season and if not, we can sign him next season when RW contract is off the book.
Not sure if this is current, but I saw this list somewhere.
Quote:
Top free agents still unsigned:
James Harden
Zach LaVine
Deandre Ayton
Miles Bridges
Collin Sexton
Jusuf Nurkic
T.J. Warren
Donte DiVincenzo
Mitchell Robinson
Otto Porter
Danilo Gallinari
Bruce Brown
Gary Payton II
Montrezl Harrell
Robin Lopez
Jalen Smith
Bryn Forbes
Jeremy Lamb

Looks about right except for GP2 who is off to Portland in what appears to be a big overpay.
If Nets move KD, Phoenix is the front runner. Ayton, Bridges and 3 FRPs.
If the Lakers are hellbent to add Irving. Something like WB and a FRP for Irving and Claxton would be my preference.
Not interested in Harris. Doubt the Nets are trading Curry or ONeal. IMO keeping it as easy as possible is best way to make it work. Some of these laundry lists of players and teams complexes the issue too much.
U read the news today?
Just catching up. What did I miss that eliminates my wild speculation?
Claxton signed with nets
Why would that stop a trade if included with Irving? Contracts have not been completed yet. Wouldn’t it be acceptable as a S&T?
Nets with Ayton makes Claxton expendable. Especially if getting picks and dumping Irving, even if for WB. Lakers need another athletic big desperately.
Lakers don’t need Harris. JMO but I think Swider is going to surprise and be a useful shooter this season for 10-15 mpg. A poor man’s Harris or Gallinari.
Like most of the trade proposals suggested, this is unlikely.
@4DBandwagon: a S&t’d Claxton hardcaps us though fam. _________________ Not familiar with the salary cap/CBA rules & how it impacts our Lakers?

I believe a S&T will hard cap us, hence no Claxton. _________________ “You can't be held captive by the fear of failure or the fear of what people may say.” - Kobe Bryant
If the Nets trade KD to the Heat and Kyrie to the Lakers in the same trade, the Lakers can take back Duncan Robinson alongside Kyrie in that trade.
He has a brutally awful contract though. His contract takes him to 2026, assuming he doesn't opt out of ~$19.9 million in 2025.
But, taking back a bad contract is a way to give back value to the Nets. It was reported that the Lakers are less stringent about taking back salary than they are about trading away picks.

If and this is a big if. But if we even can get Kyrie, the Nets are not throwing in a additional quality players for us. Especially knowing Mavs may target him also.
This is out of control, the media is loving it though. It happens every year and it seems the Lakers are always involved. I don't see Kyrie to the Lakers it's all click bait news.

I’d love if we could get Gabe Vincent or Caleb Martin. Two guys who can defend and both on vet minimum contracts
Trading away more first round picks for Kyrie who is on a one year deal.
Kyrie and Lebron can both walk next year when their contracts are up. We could essentially be left with nothing and no draft picks. Is Kyrie really someone you want to gamble the future with?
C: Jones
PF: AD, Gabriel, Stanley
SF: LeBron, Brown Jr, Tuscano-Andrson
SG: Reaves, Walker, THT, Christie
PG: Westbrook, Nunn
Not exactly the most balanced roster (and not sure JTA and Brown are SF's) but hoping for that Kyrie deal that would really help make the rest of that make sense.
Trading THT seems like a no brainer if a deal can be found.

We only owe one pick to NOP, and if we can get Kyrie, it is likely we resign him. If we stick with WB, we are wasting lebron’s last years

Personally I'd prefer to completely rid ourselves of Klutch and trade everyone for draft picks and young players.
But since that looks like it isn't going to happen maybe you take a chance on Kyrie.
Better to take one last shot than slowly bleed to death watching LBJ statpad until he can play with his kid.

It’s likely that the Nets would want to unload salary on us if we trade for Kyrie… so something like Russ, Johnson or Gabriel, FRP & FRP swap for Kyrie & Joe Harris might be the most likely option.
I actually like that for us… Lakers can then deal THT (and Gabriel or Johnson, if needed) to any team for the highest bid…
OKC for JaMychal Green & Kenrich Williams?
DET for Nerlens Noel & picks?
SAC for Richaun Holmes?
TOR for Khem Birch, Svi & picks?
SA for Doug McDermott
UTA for Jordan Clarkson

Show me the starting lineups:
LBJ, AD, RW, Christie and Reeves
Bench; Nunn, THT, Walker, Stanley and Jones?
Man this worries me, honestly. They need to Move THT and try to get another wing.
