Lakers likely come back from the road-trip under .500.

Rob gave Vogel an awful roster, however, Vogel lost me last season when he wouldn't play Trez, didn't make Schroder come off the bench and stuck with Drummond.

I’m interested to hear which HC currently sitting at home is going to get this team to play consistent defense, rebound, stop turning the ball over and play with effort and efficiency for a full 48 mins every night.

Add in the issue with third quarters. My theory is old guys have a hard time getting warmed up and active again after cooling down during halftime. The aches and stiffness catch up to you. Ask anyone over 40 yrs old. Those breaks kill you!

I’m listening…

How about bringing in Terry Stotts to coach offense. Lakers still can't figure out how to run an offense.

Rob signed DS on the condition that he Starts, same with Drumm

Signing Trez was a mistake knowing Vogel won't play him due to his horrible defense.

Because they don’t run an offense. They run the James offense. There is little ball or player movement. It is basically let your superstar run the clock down to about 5 secs then “make a play”.

It works great when James was in his prime. They even brought in another playmaker in Westbrook to play the same style. He is just out of control and inefficient. They are trying to develop another in THT. We will see how that turns out.

But expecting the team to suddenly run a completely different offense is crazy talk.

We traded for DS, we didn't sign him. At some point, you take control of your team. What was Vogel / Rob so scared of - that DS would leave them in FA?

Trez defense is on the same tier if not better than half the roster this year.

Also, I want to point out that, really, it boils down to one move.

Having KCP, Trez, AC, and Kuz instead of Russell "Empty Stats Losing Player" Westbrook would've made for a completely different team.

I blame this on Bron, Rich Adele, and Night and Day AD.

Bron/Klutch got us a chip so I guess you live with it. But I guarantee you that Rob can't wait to have full control ala Griffin.

Riley was the only one that said f your ass and move on, Bron.

Vogel must feel pretty frustrated himself. Last year he had too many big man with very few guard and no playing making skills outside of lebron and Ds, this year, he got like 6-7 guys making plays and a sea of undersized guards with no big man. When melo is your 4, you know we have issues. When lebron is out, bumping AD to 5 is not going to help

On a side note, we have been running melo to the ground, he played way too many minutes. Unless lebron comes back soon, this ship is sinking fast. Bad roster construction can lead to this

Hopefully by the end of the season we can flip or dump some of these guards.

Not blaming Frank for how this team is playing. You cant hire a coach who's strength lies in defense and trade away all the perimeter defenders we have replacing them with players who've never been known for playing a lick of defense. I feel for Frank i really do. No way he was consulted on these trades.

Our offense sucks. The team simply didn't know what to do once AD was doubled or tripled.

Vogel's teams historically that have been any good, have had 1-2 core guys that the offense runs around, and a lot fiesty defensive role players. Indiana and the LA teams.

This is a unique situation for Vogel. He's never coached anyone like WB. He's never had to deal with so many dimensional scorers. It's a tough spot for him. Because he's been accustomed to the KCPs, Caruso, Danny Greens etc. The guys that he wants to lean on, they are just not there.

You saw with Reaves how much he helps a guy like Vogel. Limited as Reaves is. The Lakers didn't do Vogel any favors by signing so many guys without niche roles in the league. They did the same thing to him last year with Trez, going for Trez instead of Dwight/McGee.

In the end, whatever happens, I don't think it's fair to scapegoat Vogel if things go bad (but we are not even close to thinking about that until Bron comes back and plays for a significant while with AD) but regardless. I'll always appreciate Frank's impact on that 1st year on this team. That defensive mentality, that toughness. Not Frank's fault in my book we took away the best guys who did for him. But we will also see how good a coach Frank is, now. A good coach I know he is. If he can turn some of these guys into role players that play on both sides of the ball, and find the mix between AD/Bron/WB. He deserves accolades. If not, he's just your typical solid NBA coach who fits with the right personnel.

AD is already publicly criticizing the team. Westbrook will start biatching soon about various stuff. That's 2 strikes against Vogel. As soon as King Lebron raises his pinky finger and looks sideways at Vogel, we will have a new head coach for the Lakers.

I feel bad for Vogel.

Like Gilbert Arenas said, we won that championship because the Heat were not good enough.

Vogel does not know what he is doing and it is obvious. His line ups are (bleep).

rondo
tht
bradley
dwight

on the floor together should tell you all you need to know.

Russell + Rondo on the floor should tell you all you need to know.

This offense of throwing the ball to AD down the block for a fade away is not going to work. We need actual ball and body movement and the right combination of players out there.

Westbrook shot 47% and scored 27ppg under mdantoni... but tucker 6"6 was their center because of his shooting. On this team vogel keeps starting deandre and playing westbrook with guys like THT, Rondo, Bradley etc... what are you doing bro?

Westbrook
Ellington
LeBron (baze until bron comes back)
Melo
Davis

that's it.

as a coach the message should be forget winning, forget scoring, I want to see the ball swinging and bodies constantly moving. You don't move, and don't look to cut and you are out of the game, you hold the ball for more than 4 seconds, out of the game. We need to play like a team. The wins will come once we get rid of these bad habits of playing old school basketball.

Gilbert also says he would do a lineup of Bron westbrook AD Dwight and Deandre.

He’s just salty that we said no to him when he asked to be a volunteer coach for us.

line up for what, to fight? I'd put Rondo instead of AD

Yawn.

What does Gilbert Arenas know about winning a championship?

The Lakers completely demolished every team in 2020, including the "best 8th seed ever" as the media "experts" said

If Frank is replaced in 2022 - who do we want?

Any big name guys avail or have contracts expiring?

I don’t see a first time HC unless it’s a big name former player like how Nash was.

I also don’t want Fiz.

And Callipari not realistic either.

Stotts? Clifford? Gentry?

A lot of meh
