Can we push back on the notion that Anthony Davis is constantly injured?
True: He had injury issues for the first four years of his career (playing 61, 67, 68, and 64 games)
True: He was injured for most of the 20-21 season
True: AD does lead the league in grabbing his lower body and 'doing to the locker room and coming back out'
For 4 of the last 5 seasons (other than this year) he'd been healthy for the most part
16-17 season: played 75 games and was healthy for basically the entire season
17-18 season: played 75 games and was healthy for basically the entire season
18-19 season: healthy throughout the season until his trade demand when they sat him down
19-20 season: first season with the Lakers, played 61 of 71 regular-season games (including 1 DNP for the last game of the bubble after we'd already clinched the best record in the West)
To put things in perspective, AD has played a higher percentage of his career games than Kyrie, yet Kyrie doesn't have the "constantly injured" label like AD does.
I know you were being facetious, but he did look a bit chubby at the start of the season. I mean, he had a very short off season, so I'll give him a pass, not Bron is always in the lab, getting better. AD needs that same work ethic. Lebron will demand it for sure. Remember Kobe railing on Shaq for being a fat ass every training camp?

Real talk, Kobe and AD could never be teammates, because AD is just as lazy as Shaq in the offseason.
AD needs a fitness intervention. Forget about injuries for now, but AD last off-season, I don't care how short it was, but he arrived fat and unmotivated.
i had MVP expectations from AD this year and i am disappointed.
but i dont think he is lazy.
He was smoking weed all off-season, came into the season completely unmotivated and out of shape. That's the pinnacle of laziness.
Injuries are not an excuse. You can do tons of low impact exercises to stay in shape.
No excuses. Lazy AF.
If AD works as hard as he should, he should be looking like Giannis by now... imagine his talents, in Giannis' body. whoah. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. Did the Lakers have much of an off season? _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!

different body structures and if you want to talk game AD's way more rounded.
I think AD is going to have an MVP caliber season next year. Almost 5 months off will do wonders for his body. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

Speak it into existence
He knows he has to
That was belief going into this past season, look how that turned out.
Davis has it to prove on the court this next season. I assume nothing!
this is my thinking as well. Lebron can take it easy during regular season but AD needs to be a beast and produce.
last year i was expecting MVP season but he came out of shape. I want to see to believe it
Going into to the shortened off season hurt, you expected him to be in shape to start the season?
the doc explains some of it. I think it messed with a lot of guys that weren't healthy to end the season. The season in general was weird. Hopefully the guys get some normalcy next season. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!

LeBron is a freak of nature.
And went into the off season healthy.
It's definitely your prerogative to not accept AD's situation as an excuse. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!
If healthy, we would have easily beat the Suns IMO. Then Denver without Murray, that's a wrap. And Clips, trying small ball with AD? Lakers in 5.
I hope people see the true value of AD. Bigs are being played off the floor b/c they can't switch, or have the offensive versatility to stay on the floor due to lack of shooting. AD suffers from none of that.
He just needs to stay healthy and I think we are right back in the thick of things next season. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

Yup. AD is the cheat code, would have smoked all these remaining teams which makes the injuries even more frustrating.
With Magic calling for it, and now Fizdale coming in who helped Miami add a lot of speed on D and spacing on O, wonder if we can work with AD on a program this offseason where he is a little physically stronger and can play 5 mostly. If we go with AD as our 5, it changes everything we can do as a team.
We won title one way, but to win a second one, we may need to make an adjustment for older Bron, who needs even more spacing to get the driving lanes and post up opportunities to use his all time great playmaking. Not to mention the defense.
