Loved ADs game all season. Hopefully he's vocal to front office about needing to be the centerpiece and bldg team around him. I assume he will be but via some ultimatum of get me talent or trade me and hopefully Rob gets him talent.
I would take AD over Gobert as a defender, he's more versatile. But I don't have any problem with Gobert winning the DPOY. He was the obvious choice. He anchored the best defensive team in the league, and they had the 4th best record in the league overall. Wins and losses matter a lot for these awards.
The Lakers were neither good enough defensively, or had a good enough record for AD to win out over Gobert imo. He had a great season though.

First Towns shoots from the outside and so can effectively play the 4 on offense to Gobert's 5, AD can't/doesn't. This can be absolutely deadly when clicking.
Second the Nuggets OTHER Players are long, and quick, and are swarming and taking Jokic's passing angles away - their team defense is absolutely stunning and the best I've seen this season.
To do what Towns does AD would have to: shoot the 3 like Towns to draw Jokic out of the paint PLUS have long/quick defenders like Alexander-Walker, Reid, Anderson, McDaniels play major minutes alongside him - not to mention Gobert and Edwards.
Nobody talks about what AD could do with the proper team around him.
There is the issue. AD did have a team built around him pre-lakers and he didn’t do much. But bron foils the opportunity for getting a real pg plus he is best suited for the 4 yet that’s where we want AD. 3 more years. Ad will be washed by then but we will be forced into the inevitable rebuild. The only thing that hurts that is if we sign a Trae who I like but it will be this constant filling in of the margins never really accomplishing anything. _________________ Kobe.

Exactly it's so infuriating. Lebron doesn't need "help" the team is not centered around him and it shouldn't be. AD is and should be the focal point. Get him a 2 way wing and a starting big and you will dominate the west. I get so tired of talking about what lebron needs. smh

If you look at RealGM or any other forum you would find a lot of talk of trading Karl Anthony Towns, Minnesota needed to make a run for the them to keep the team together and it looks like that isn’t going to happen
