The only reason why I'd entertain moving Davis is because of his history of being injured. It's nothing personal, you can appreciate what he's done for us and value him as a player while at the same time acknowledging that his fragility is an issue.

I've asked this thread multiple times what is a trade comp for Brow. I'm thinking Lillard is fair.

Sounds fair on this end.. but I'm a bit bias lol. I'm not really sure what kind of haul you'd get for Davis. Healthy he's a top 5 player in this league. I don't know that we could actually get equal value for him.

Why would the Blazers do that? A duo of McCollum and Davis is not good enough to win a ring. If they wanted to trade Lilliard, they would just go for a full rebuild.

And on our end, who would the rim protector be?

Why would you trade Davis?

If FO made the improbable decision to break up the pairing, you trade James.

Adding a couple younger players to form a trio with Davis would be the move.

Oh god. Thinking of a trade comp for Bron would be just as tough. Um... I guess Zion or Simmons.

Stop putting non shooting centers around him and LBJ. How many years do we need to put parking brakes on them?

Shooting centers who can defend are rare and expensive or else they're old like Marc.

Embiid? Lol I’d include joker but he doesn’t really defend the paint

It's so hard to find those guys. The only real non-specialist shooting C is KAT and his rim protection leaves something to be desired plus he's an untouchable max contract All-Star. Embiid and Jokic are more situational shooters from deep, though they're both better than AD. Brook has mostly lost his perimeter touch and helped the Bucks more by turning back into Nets era BroLo against the Heat.

The reality is unless you're paying max money, you either get Mike Scott and Frank Kaminsky or you get Dwight Howard "trying to expand his game."

Go get a lob threat. I'd rather have Nerlens Noel on the cheap than trade half the guys under contract for Myles Turner.

Who was the rim protector on the 2016 Cavs? Tristan Thompson?

come on, there's no "fair" trades happening. My wish is Lillard asks to be traded. It's "Dame Time" to be traded bro. End the suffering and come to LA with AD and Bron.

@candycanes.. I'm with you, If I were Portland I wouldn't make that trade.

@Bandwagon.. I think moving AD would be less complicated, though difficult.

And before anyone starts dumping on me.. lol

I'm not advocating that we trade AD.. I'm just saying I'd entertain the idea if we can't get him a solid 4/5 to reduce his work load. I'm not comfortable relying on him to carry this team season after season. It's not a question of his will.

Something wrong with this dude if he can't play a season without injury. Every time he falls he's acting like it's a season ending injury. Gotta work on strength and flexibility in the off season

That trade would have the Lakers sending AD to a third team that would be dumping first round picks on the Blazers.

I wouldn't take on AD if I was the Blazers. Already seen what the Pelicans did with him on a smaller market team.

Would the Celtics trade us either Tatum or a package centered around Jaylen Brown? Or would the Pelicans give us Ingram and picks back?

He's not a #1 option and I don't think his game ages well as his athleticism diminishes, but we'll see

What to do with him as he gets older? No idea right now. As has been true throughout his career, he's as good as the best initiator he plays with. Who's that guy for the Lakers after LeBron?

All bigs are. They are ceiling raisers. Wings establish your floor. That’s why with LeBron we’re good, but with LBJ/AD were great.

I don’t think they trade either. And Davis frustrated the hell out of me with how awkward he is. Baby Giraffe always comes to mind.

But he is a dominant player. And will be for the next 5 years. Honestly think he has an MVP season in him. You don’t trade that away.

I know it is an unpopular idea for many, but if a marquee trade was going to made, it has to be James. He is an icon, but he only has a couple years left at best. Again, improbable, but if they did it would be with a contender that can’t get over the hump for multiple players to start “helping” Davis.

Never going to happen.

Jokic. Embiid.

Jokic is a de facto PG he's such an elite passer. Embiid...his turnover problems against double teams have hurt the Sixers in the clutch in the past. Neither may ever win a title. Let's wait and see.

It's incredible to me that people actually believe Jeanie or Rob has more control over the team than LBJ right now.

Wait until Space Jam 2 bombs, then Jeanie will regain control of the team.

Jeanie is still living in the probable eternal afterglow of LBJ winning her the first title as a female owner.

I'm in my fifties so I'll probably be dead before someone other than Klutch runs the show.

My only hope is LBJ gets bored with us and he and Maverick buy another team... but he'll most likely take over part ownership of the team.

Important part of Lakers identity is that we treat our superstars with respect. One of reasons why LeBron and AD wanted to come here. But sure, let's trade player who led us to title just few months ago and tried to play injured. Let's become Boston. It worked for them so well...

What bothers me is when will this nervousness about his health end? Can we say he won't be hurt again next season? Is there anything that would prevent it? No. AD is an injury waiting to happen, at any moment, during any game...and next season isn't changing that.

AD has proven that he's awkward on the court, and that he can't stay healthy. So, as fan, what am I to do next season...walk on eggshells every time he plays, wondering will this be the moment that he gets injured...again.

I watch other bigmen and I don't get nervous. But with Davis, I literally have to hold my breath every time he handles the ball, or jumps, because I don't know when that "moment" will come when he'll land wrong, or something will happen (knee, groin, ankle, whatever) and he'll be injured and the whole season, with a 37 year old Lebron, will be lost.

I just don't want to have to go through that stress again.
