If it's a torn ACL the Clippers will likely be a lottery team next year.
They have no picks? Man. I want the Clippers to fail, but not like this. This is potentially franchise-altering (bleep), and all because of an unnecessarily accelerated season. As Laker fans, we (bleep) and moaned a lot about this year's team, but we are so lucky Bron/AD came out of the season relatively unscathed on a longer term basis.

I don't like the KL injury, it's a tough thing for an athlete to go through. That said, I don't care how the Clippers fail, as long as they fail. I also don't care about their franchise. Ballmer/KL/PG didn't and don't give a damn about the Lakers franchise one bit, so guess what...Again, I never wish injury on an athlete, but I'm not shedding any tears if this spells the doom of the Clippers.
If it is an ACL tear the clippers would be dumb to give him a max contract. He's damaged goods. He could barely get through the 2nd round with a 72 game season. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.
Yep, when you ride Kawhi too long w/o load mgmt. this is the result. Besides Jazz have been wo Conley the entire series so all is fair in the end. However, the few fans they have will be incessantly whining all summer long joining us in some degree re: the injury bug derailing their title hopes.

I wonder if this will be an asterisked championship.
LeBron, AD, Jamal Murray, Kawhi, Jaylen Brown, Embiid, Kyrie, Harden, Mike Conley, Donovan Mitchell, Doncic, Chris Paul, and Donte DiVincenzo have all had major injuries.
No, because the Lakers cannot possibly win a title, so any asterisk will be dropped. Only used for Laker hating trolls.
Nobody with a straight face can say the product this year is superior to the bubble with injuries and depleted rosters and an absurd regular season.
Yup. If there's such thing as an asterisk season/title .. it feels a lot more like this is it and not the bubble. Bubble was high level ball all around. Only Nets and Bucks failed to live up to their expectations but otherwise all kinds of players were hot and (most) teams were hungry. This year feels like "getting back to normal year" where the season was rushed, fans were slowly let back in, concessions getting back to biz, fan noise filler, etc etc but also full of injuries to so many stars.
Wonder how this impacts his opt out? Will the clips still give him a 35% max 5yr deal or will they continue to clip. In which case Kawhi should just dip.
Meanwhile Presti over here with his tea, enjoying a sip.
This is shaping up to be another disappointment for me. The Nets were vulnerable, but KD happened and the Bucks choked a 17 pt lead in the 3rd quarter.
Now the Clippers are vulnerable, but I can see the Jazz still losing since Conley isn't coming back.
Then if the Clippers advance, how long are the Suns without CP3?
If it's a tear, I wonder if Kawhi opts in.
Or maybe opt out and sign with another team and sit out a year like KD.
Fun guy making the off season even more interesting. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!

Klay Thompson? You'll be surprised how many teams are willing to pay max money for an injured superstar regardless of the injury unless it's a career ending injury. They're not dumb. It's just the economics of NBA superstars.
Heck, even if AD didn't sign the extension last season and was eligible to sign an extension this season, we still would have given him the max given his injury history.

I think he resigns with the Clippers because of how the Clippers bounced back in game 3 and 4 against the Jazz. I thought the Clippers were playing like a loaded team that they are. I mean Clippers are still in LA and still loaded so it'd be hard for him to find a better destination. _________________ LeGoat! LeMazing! LeGend!

Kevin Durant got a max contract with a blown Achilles. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
Klay Thomspon never had a serious injury before tearing his ACL. AD has never had a serious injury in his career. Remember last year Kawhi Leonard had a chronic quad injury. He couldn't even play back-to-back games. This could be the beginning of the end for him. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

KD recovered fully from Achilles injury. CP3 recovered from chronic injuries. So yeah, teams are definitely going to take a chance on a player like Kawhi. I mean I'm sure the Lakers would sign Kawhi right now if given the opportunity. _________________ LeGoat! LeMazing! LeGend!

Sam Presti on the phone with Lawrence Frank and Jerry West.
Sam: So you're saying I get the upside of your picks for five straight years starting in 2022, three outright and two swaps?
Frank: Plus two 1sts from Miami!
Sam: Yeah, great Frank. So these five Clipper picks, I mean no restrictions right?
West: Right, It's a godfather offer.
Frank: And we'll throw in SGA and Gallo!
West: [Speechless]
Sam: [Thinking this is going to get "Basketball Reasoned" for sure]
Really amazing that a basketball genius like Jerry West thought this was a good deal. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
