Kinda hoping Kawhi leaves and then the Clippers spend the first 5+ years in their new arena missing the playoffs. Balmer deserves it.
OKC would be laughing their ass off
The Clippers owe OKC an unprotected 1st next summer
Might as well have Kawhi sign with OKC next year to complete the laughter, Kawhi laughter of course
why would Kawhi leave? no one can give as many benefits as Balmer. PG and entire tam is playing well. After the recent playoff success, they can easily swap morris/reggie/batum etc to something.
Folks here keep worrying about Clips, as of now they have better trade assets than us. we have NOTHING that matters

Jackson and Batum are both UFAs this summer coming off 1-yr deals similar to Markieff and Wes Matthews. The Clippers don't have Batum's Bird Rights. They have Zubac/Morris/Kennard/Ibaka's expiring MLE contract/#25 pick as assets.
The Lakers have Kuz/KCP/#22 pick as assets. They also have DS' Bird Rights, AC's Bird Rights, and THT's RFA rights in potential S&T or mid-season trade scenarios plus Harrell could still opt in as part of a trade to a desired team.
The Lakers owe two swaps and two unprotected first round picks to the Pelicans and are eligible to trade their 2027 1st. The Clippers owe two swaps and three unprotected first round picks to the Thunder and will be eligible to trade their 2028 1st as of this summer. Credit to the Clippers for finagling three future 2nds from Detroit as part of the Shaker/Kennard deal.
Both cupboards look like something to me, but not much if the goal is to land a third star. We'll see what THT's new contract looks like, but he and Zu are their respective team's best assets this side of lightly protected 1st round picks 6-7 years out, and I'll take the Lakers drafting record over the Clippers when it comes to finding value at #22 v. #25 in this year's draft. _________________ Under New Management

The Clippers are getting incredible value from Batum and Jackson for pennies. If they can't resign one or both of those guys, it's not like they have players that can replace those skillsets readily available, especially at point guard. Then you have Rondo on an expiring deal, but essentially not bringing much value now that he can't even crack their playoff rotation, and Ibaka whose health is up in the air and on a steady decline in his play to begin with.
I guess they've got Mann and Kennard who can take on bigger roles, but it's not a stretch to say this year may have been their best shot at winning it all before the Kawhi injury (pending news on what it actually is), because their roster may never be as good as this. Just an abundance of riches, as far as the shooting they surrounded Kawhi and PG with, and unlike last year they have a closing lineup they can play with no defensive weak links to take advantage of.
So what is the deal with Kawhi? Basically 2+ days and now MRI results? WTF?
Skip bayless of all people said he talked to some people and they said it's pretty serious and that kawhi might not be even ready at start of next season

Mann is apparently a future All-Star, so I retract my earlier post. _________________ Under New Management
The Clippers finally have a second-round Banner to hang. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

Paul George... not Kawhi Leonard, not Chris Paul, not Blake Griffin, not Elton Brand, not Lamar Odom, not Corey Maggette, not Darius Miles, not Ron Harper, not Bob McAdoo is the first star to get the Clippers franchise to the conference finals.

Who needs Kawhi when you have Terrance Mann? That dude was 48th pick? wtf? Was Jerry involved in his selection? Could we draft our own Terrance Mann with our 2nd rounder? _________________ Playoffs is good enough. - Jeanie Buss 2024
Quin Snyder was stubbornly playing gobert in the 2nd half when it just want working what a bummer to watch that. Now we're stuck with tradeoff between CP3 or clips getting to finals. I'll prefer clippers getting there.
