You have to start questioning Kawhi's durability. He's 30 years old. Last year he was on load management and couldn't play back-to-back games. This year he couldn't make it out of the 2nd round of the playoffs with an ACL injury.

The Spurs always knew it. The quad, the knees, dude is banged up.

Injuries are not math. Doesn't matter if you do all the load management all year long. See Kawhi, Irving, etc.

The quad tendinopathy diagnosis he had in SA messed up him up badly and necessitated the need for load management.

He's not close to the defensive player he was in SA. A pre-tendinopathy Kawhi would have made Luka's life a living hell. He was a vicious defender:

Nice having one of the greatest defensive bigs all time behind him.
The NBA is also different. A lot more switching on defense. A lot more hunting for the weakest defender.

Not ready to write these bums off. They usually play better after being down 2-0. But yeah I am hoping for a sweep now that Snake is out and Cp3 is back.

Ballmer didn't have to pay much of anything once Jeanie Buss refused to allow Jerry West to come back to the Lakers as a consultant so he could spend his basketball stop with his son.

Jerry's getting $4 million to $5 million per season.

He has probably earned more in his 4 years with the Clippers than in his 40 years with the Lakers.

It seems to always be about money with Logo.

Money and Credit.

He left the Lakers because Dr. Buss didn't give him an ownership stake like Magic got.

That's false. You know he has an actual book on this situation, right?

And people still complain why Doncic was traded for a still super solid star in Trae

Go figure what should they say about the guy who wanted to draft Sidney Moncrief instead of Magic (this is also actually true)

Moncrief an all around great player, but the other one is Mount Rushmore

Now it all makes sense.
Hopefully Lakers nation recognizes the betrayal.

Payne has been filling in nicely for CP3 so I don't know if CP3 would improve the Suns that much. Suns won when Booker had an off night because of Ayton and Payne. I think Ayton is the reason why the Suns are winning.

Would the Suns dare entertain not bringing CP3 back, maybe S&T him with some other team to get deeper (and try to keep Cam)?

Oof. But those E'Twaun Moore minutes at point guard hurts my eyes.
Even if Cliff comes off the bench until he gets his wind/timing back, should be good.

It's looking like Booker and Ayton is their future. Payne could take over as their starting PG. Maybe CP3 could do a vet min with the Lakers if he really wanted to chase a couple more rings with his bestie, Lebron.

Dude probably heads out during the AD purge if he makes it past the 2018 turned 2019 2nd max guy cap space purge.

Why can’t folks realize the same dude that waived TB, let a restricted Jules walk and traded Zu for nothing is the same guy that dumped Moe/Bonga/JJ/2022 2nd and forced AD to waive his trade kicker for nothing. All those moves were for an unrealized 2nd max guy via FA. That same dude is still in the front office.

Btw, dude negotiated the Deng buyout only to then follow it up by trying to lawyer his way out of getting out these last remaining 5m payments. It didn’t work...so what’s a Zu 1.9m RFA cap hold on our 2019 cap sheet to Rob?

Tried to trade him...
Quote:
We want to say this about Luol,”Johnson said. “Rob has been working very well with him to try to get him to a place where he can be happy. But there’s not been a trade for him. He understands that and he knows that.”

“ Luol has been an unbelievable professional and has stayed very positive,” Pelinka said. “He understands the situation. At some point we’ll figure out a way to resolve that (in a manner) that’s a win for him and for us, but this trade deadline wasn’t the window for that to happen.”

2018 came and went without Bron’s running mate, so ended up stretch-waiving him instead of possibly using assets later to move him before 2019 free agency a la MozDLov
Quote:
We made this move to further our future salary cap and roster flexibility as we continue to build this Lakers team according to our current overall vision,” Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka said in a statement.

Then tried to just Thanos snap him off our books, but Deng avenged his LA cap hit...
https://mobile.twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1331829573902856194

So blame Mag all you want, but don’t forget the other guy that put “all the work” in so that these junk options hit Magic’s desk for him to sign off on when he actually did make it into the office.

I'll be the first to admit that I had a very superficial understanding of what went down regarding Zubac. Mistakes were definitely made. It bothered me deeply when I read the details of that trade. That ish still bugs me to this day because of a growing big plucked from us by of all team, the f'n clippers.

RP was a bit green in his role at the time. A championship helps to ease the sting, but it's going to sting for a long time because those guys know that they put one over on us. No doubt about it.

^^^Seriously tired AF with the lazy narratives. They both wasn’t fit for the gig, but somehow Magic gets all of it while the other guy gets a pass. If we’re going to have revisionist history, how about this story? If Mag had his way, he would have taken Solomon Hill’s deal along with AD in the 2018/19 campaign. If that happened, we bypass Kawhi heartbreak and go for other FAs. Fast forward to this past year and as his teammates Hill doesn’t roll onto the Kang’s ankle rather does it to another star that makes our route to another title easier all while Bron’s god given godly shoulders doesn’t have to bear too much of the offense since Mag would have fired Luke and replaced him with Lue even @ the steep cost of a 5yr deal. At least that story isn’t lazily constructed haha

Bottomline Mag/Rob turned MozDeng into Brown. We gave up alot of green to get it done but luckily for us (ie Pels ditching Demps & getting #1, us getting #4, 4 months of reCOVIDry) it led to #17. Kudos to the both of those guys for making it happen, but they BOTH had novice missteps along the way.

Lastly, we don’t know how it’s going to end, but it sure looks bad that we could have closed on Lue w/Vogs at his side and couldn’t get it done.

How is Lue doing it with a head case like PG, a hobbled Mook, no Kawhi, and no Ibaka? Put these dudes to sLeep already...the (bleep) is going on?

And apologies to everybody that has to deal with my tirade, but cLip Ws got me in a mood.
