Yeah unless he is messing around pregame, I didn’t like that clip at all.

FRANKIE V PRESSER TODAY - Nothing On Injuries But Interesting Info Nonetheless

Per Trudell

Frank Vogel said he’s been very impressed w/Miami, pointing to how well coached they are and how hard they play. He considers the Heat to have 3 All-Star caliber players in Butler, Adebayo and Dragic (“I’ve always though Goran Dragic, when healthy, is an All-Star level player.")

https://twitter.com/lakersreporter/status/1310683358628724736?s=21

Vogel said that, while Miami is unique, there are elements from LAL’s 3 Western Conference opponents that are applicable to this Finals matchup. LAL saw and dealt with a lot of diff. looks from POR/HOU/DEN.

https://twitter.com/lakersreporter/status/1310683618545549312?s=21

Frank Vogel said that Bam Adebayo is “already there” as a star.

The Lakers do have elite personnel to contend with Bam in Anthony Davis, Dwight Howard and even LeBron, but LAL didn’t really see a player like him in the Western playoffs.

https://twitter.com/lakersreporter/status/1310684676881694720?s=21

Vogel said the Lakers enjoyed the night they beat Denver in 5, but it’s been “All business” since then. There’s no eye towards getting home yet.

They’re single-minded in their focus on beating Miami, he said.

https://twitter.com/lakersreporter/status/1310685173114007553?s=21

Vogel was asked about Dwight Howard, who was so impactful against Jokic in the WCF, and acknowledged that he’d be important to this matchup, suggesting that he’ll spend some time on Bam.

AD vs BAM

Per Ahmed

Bam is only one inch shorter than AD, but AD’s wingspan is 4/5 inches wider than Bam’s. Keep that in mind when they go head-to-head.

DAY TO DAVIS

Ah boy

Per Faigen

AD being listed as a "right heel contusion" after it was previously a sprained ankle is worth watching, but he (and everyone else) are probable so don't worry too much everyone

DION SET TO GO - EVERYONE ELSE IS GOOD OLE PROBABLE

Remember folks - Probable = Playing

Per Rivas

Dion Waiters has been taken off of the Lakers' injury report, which means he'll be available for Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

https://twitter.com/radrivas/status/1311065568422715393?s=21

Alex Caruso (sore right wrist), Anthony Davis (right heel contusion), Danny Green (volar plate injury, left ring finger) and LeBron James (sore right groin) are all probable.

CLARIFICATION ON AD

Per Faigen

Small update after looking at the injury reports again: AD was listed for Game 5 in the WCF with a sprained LEFT ankle.

Before Game 1 of the Finals, it's a RIGHT heel contusion (he's probable to play).

Just wanted to clarify that the ankle seems to be good, this is different.

Per Trudell

Adam Silver, conducting his media availability before the Finals tips, said that plans for the 2020-21 season have already begun, and that the NBA is examining rapid COVID testing processes regarding getting fans into NBA arenas.

ICYMI - INJURIES FROM THE OTHER SIDE

The Injury bug hit the Heat at the literal worst time.

Per Woj

Miami's Goran Dragic has suffered a plantar tear of left foot, source tells ESPN.

https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1311516704422461440?s=21

Dragic has been able to put pressure on his left foot and hasn't ruled out returning to play in the NBA Finals, source tells ESPN.

https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1311517696346001408?s=21

Per Haynes

Goran Dragic exited the arena without utilizing a boot and he wasn’t favoring his foot much at all.

https://twitter.com/chrisbhaynes/status/1311518906318761985?s=21

(Sidenote - Dragic is one of my favorite non-Laker players. Get well soon Dragon! 🐉)

Per Reynolds

Source says Bam Adebayo intends to play Friday in Game 2. There will be a lot of treatment in his future Thursday.

https://twitter.com/bytimreynolds/status/1311526381067685888?s=21

Per Trudell

Jimmy Butler on his ankle: "A little bit sore. I'll be okay with some treatment. I'll get ready to go again. I think I got to be ready to go. So we'll see how it feels tomorrow, but I’m going to be fine."

Crazy if Dragic tries to play through that injury - would show a lot of heart. You would just hope he doesn't make it worse, with FA around the corner. With that said, it will be on us to attack and exploit their injured players as much as possible throughout the rest of the games.

INJURIES FROM THE OTHER SIDE UPDATES

This sucks

Per Miami Heat

INJURY UPDATE: Goran Dragic (left foot torn plantar fascia) is listed as doubtful to play in tomorrow's #NBAFinals  Game 2 vs the Lakers.

Bam Adebayo is also listed as doubtful after a MRI revealed a neck strain (left side).

Heat lucky it's a strain, during the game I thought he had separated his AC joint jumping into Dwight like that

AS OF LAST NIGHT LAKERS ARE HOLDING STEADY

No news is good news on a Friday morning. This went up last night. Obviously I will update as we get closer to the game.

Per Faigen (IR press release at link)

The Lakers' injury report is basically unchanged from Game 1

https://twitter.com/hmfaigen/status/1311803574247059462?s=21

The release reads as follows: - Anthony Davis (right heel contusion), Danny Green (Volar plate injury, left ring finger), LeBron James (sore right groin) are probable.

TD any news on Bam or Dragic? I see a lot of Laker fans assuming they are both out for at least Game 2, if not the series, but nothing official has been reported, I don't think.

THE HEAT ARE REALLY TRIPPING RIGHT NOW

Per Woj (full ESPN story at link)

ESPN story on Heat All-Star Bam Adebayo out for Game 2 of NBA Finals:

https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1312131761892065280?s=21

Per Faigen

Small update on Dragic in here too

Heat guard Goran Dragic, who sources say suffered a plantar tear of the left foot in Game 1, is expected to make a final decision on playing in Game 2 later Friday, sources said.
Dragic has been able to put some pressure on the foot, sources said, but the injury is painful and hampers mobility.”

A GOOD COACH SAVES PLAYERS FROM THEMSELVES - BAM AND GORAN

Per Faigen

Erik Spoelstra said he had to "play the role of not just coach, but parent these last 24 hours" because Goran and Bam were both lobbying so hard to play.

"I ultimately had to take the decision out of their hands for tonight."
