here's the thing. Whatever you think Markieff will come back and do... it's not worth keeping Gasol on the bench for.
We're waiting on Markieff's shot to come back so he can 'stretch the floor' right?
Well Gasol can already stretch the floor, in addition to that he can pass and play defense. Things Markieff can't do as well as Gasol.
So even if Markieff was here strictly for stretching the floor, he still gives the team less than Gasol would in those minutes. So even if he'd be 'fine' by Playoff time, he wouldn't give us more than Gasol being 'fine' at playoff time would.
So Markieff should be odd-man out that is getting the DNPs currently, and not Gasol.
Our bench lineup should be
Caruso
THT
Kuzma
Harrell
Gasol
with Kief only coming in if Gasol or Harrell got into foul trouble or something happened. The same place McLemore should be sitting in case THT has a bad game or gets in foul trouble. But he shouldn't be getting constant minutes over Marc anymore.
The sad reality is, no matter if Kief is horrible for 10-15 games. All it's gonna take is one good game and Vogel will be convinced he's correct in his decision on the Kieff/Harrell lineup and will run it into the ground and we'll never see Gasol get minutes again. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Hopefully tonight's first half lets Vogel knows he needs to replace Kief for Marc, let Kief rest that ankle injury he suffered the past week(s). |

Agree. But Gasol/Morris is a good froncourt too, as it gives the team more spacing for THT and DS off the bench. |

He's definitely in a massive funk....Trez and Gasol up front would be much better...Gasol spreads the floor and Trez can work in the paint like he always does. |

I don't get it. You people thinks yo know more than a championship coach?
Yes, Vogel said it will try it...
before to even watch it how it goes on practice. If you ask me, it sure doesn't went any good. |

Quote: | Good opportunity for Kieff to find his rhythm tonight; his shot hasn’t been there since he sprained his ankle last month. He’s been staying after games shooting with @94feetofgame lately. |

Glad to hear he's at least practicing shooting with Phil Handy. |

Great to see him play with confidence and swagger tonight.. Not only made a couple 3's but had a few nice passes and an overall solid game.
Nearly all our role players have been playing at least solid lately so hopefully they all carry it into the Playoffs and help Lebron and AD get some extra rest in that first round especially. |

I have no doubt about this. Last year he was instrumental. |

Our front court is crazy versatile assuming the guys are all healthy, and Kieff is a huge part of that. |

Quote: | Markieff Morris, who recently signed with the NBA’s Miami Heat, knocked in seven 3-pointers to help lead the Red team to a 108-97 victory over his brother’s, Marcus Morris - who made five 3-pointers, Blue squad in Brian Hanni’s annual charity hoops showcase at Free State High.
Before the game, as the 33 players who participated in this year’s event were introduced, Markieff Morris was referred to as a recent world champion for his role in helping the Los Angeles Lakers win it all in 2020.
“That sounded good,” the 10-year NBA veteran and 34.1% career 3-point shooter said. “I said they better introduce me as a world champion. That better come after my name from here on out.” |
