Report: More Jon Gruden emails reveal homophobic, misogynistic comments

Quote:
Per the report, Gruden in the emails called Commissioner Roger Goodell a “f—-t” and a “clueless antifootball (bleep).” Gruden also said that Goodell should not have pressured former Rams coach Jeff Fisher to draft “queers,” in reference to Michael Sam, a seventh-round pick of the team in 2014.

He clearly had to go....and he knew it. Simply can't have a job in the public eye being the primary face of sports organization after some of the things he said. This is in no way defending him.....but I would bet a crisp $100 bill over half of the media that are crushing him right now would have similar or worse comments in their private emails if they were reviewed from over the last decade.

Two rules-----

1. Do not be a racist, sexist, or any other bad ist.
2. Do not write electronic communication that could cause you problems if intercepted by your worst enemy. Just proof an email, and if it can be interpreted in any way that could harm you if someone that wanted to damage you got access to it.....do not send it. These communications will outlive you.

I'm always baffled by derogatory emails. What are people thinking? Emails don't just disappear into cyber space.

The joke is thinking someone should get a pass from heinous stuff said in 2011.

except when you listen to people who know and worked with him they say otherwise.

Are his actions equal to his words?

If there’s anything I’ve learned over the past few years, it’s that these types of people are always given testimonials as “great guys” by people who know and socialize with them.

No, someone that uses the language he did in the past 10 years (and the especially egregious stuff even more recently) shouldn’t get a pass, I don’t care how many testimonials he gets.

Would you have used the same language he did, on multiple occasions, written, in the same time period?

No, but my reality is different than grudens. obviously he shouldn’t have resorted to whatever he said but 2011 was a lifetime ago. The nfl couldn’t give bleeps about social issues then other than the token themed wear. That was his circle.

Hell the nba had an outwardly racist owner that everyone knew was racist that no one cared about until the tapes.

Yes he should be fired but I will trust what those who know him say about him as oppose to the cancel mob.

My theory: Davis wanted out of that ugly contract, which was why a league controlled source leaked the emails.

I doubt he wanted to destroy his reputation to do that.

Oh I can think of almost $65 million reasons why Davis would do that. The first email was either the first or second warning shot. More emails were about to be leaked. Now watch, the additional email evidence will never be released. Simply an amazing coincidence.

2011 wasn’t 1950.
2018 wasn’t 1950.

Here’s a thought - if someone’s “circle” is racist, sexist and misogynist, maybe they are too. And maybe we shouldn’t believe the character references of their buddies who run in that same circle.

He is a POS in his own right, so no, not really. Raider fans do deserve an apology from their front office.

These are the stone cold not debatable power rankings as of today. If someone says otherwise just know they are wrong

Everyone who received those emails and kept silent about it should also be investigated and called out. The one's who kept quiet and turned the other cheek to Gruden's comments basically are apart of this as well.

I wish the black players and employees in the league would speak out on this racist sh** but they always stay silent for the check. All I can do is shake my head because it’ll never change unless the players, the most valuable asset, do something about it.

And I'm sick of Dungy hiding his self hating tokenism behind religion.

Talk about a fall from grace from Gruden, he will not be heard from again...you don't come back from that.

Bills look to be for real. Their defense is back where it was before Josh Allen broke out, when they had a top defense. Just got to see Allen do it in the playoffs now.
