Tua looks to be ok. Open drive pass drooped in the end zone. had to settle for 3. 7 . Cincy. The concussion investigation is still ongoing.

He is a lot more confident this season, I guess adding guys like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle will do that.

The interception was due to a lack of arm strength.

Well, there you go Tia goes down with an even more obvious, more severe head injury. Thatā€™s why you donā€™t just send guys back out after obvious concussions. The NFL sure (bleep) this one up.

Did Michaels say his fingers were a neurological response?

Yes. Those kind of muscle contractions are the result of brain trauma. This injury came after only four days since his last other concussion, which was bad enough to leave him unable to stand in his own.

I know people like football, but at what point does it just become immoral to support it?

Yeah, this is serious stuff. Which is why it is infuriating hearing all these announcers etc. going on and on about he is conscious and moving as if that means anything. This kind of potential brain trauma is about is about the impact of swelling and fluids that build up later. Lots of people with severe brain injuries seem relative fine until the post trauma symptoms get out of hand (such as Natasha Richardson). The only good news is that he is in immediate medical care in a hospital where they can monitor him and hopefully get ahead of any life threatening results with surgery, something that Richardson didnā€™t have.

Itā€™s like a lot if dangerous activities that people choose to engage in despite the potential risk. That said, I know many parents who have not allowed their kids to get started in the sport because of the risks.

The first injury is still under investigation. If this is a second impact the doctors who passed Tua on the first concussion tests may be in a bit of trouble. As Michael it may open up a hornets nest.

Whatever happens with Tua, hopefully NFL officials have learned their lesson about downplaying concussive injuries. Though history indicates that probably wonā€™t be the case snd money will override health concerns.

I have always said that I believe the NFL guys need to do whatever they can to get as much money as they can while they play. Unlike other pro sports in the US, these guys really do put their health at risk in both the short term and even worse in the long term.

Modern day gladiators, it takes a man to bang bodies in the modern NFL and is dangerous for sure.

Yep. It's what the phrase "knocked out stiff" is referring to. You see it in MMA sometimes but it's usually them on their back with their arms stick up and legs stiff. It's like some rigor mortis thing going on. Scary (bleep).

I hope he isn't epileptic now. Demaryius Thomas died of a seizure earlier this year.

Those concussion protocols were put there for a reason. They are to protect the players from life long injuries and to protect the league from being sued in the future. If teams, players and the league are going to ignore it then the game is in danger going forward.
