Adding Paul or not, the Clippers picks will be at the back end of the draft.

If the clippers don't win next season, Kawhi and PG13 could leave as soon as next off season which would give the picks that OKC got more value.

Yup, pretty much guaranteed there's already some friction there and if they go through another entire season that falls short in the Playoffs I have no doubt that at minimum one leaves but probably both. Clippers would go back to the cellars of the NBA and get absolutely nothing for it since they have no draft picks

Kawhi won’t, he is in SoCal where he wants to be.

Do you realize how affirmatively you speak about speculation?

Until he doesn’t. He gets what he wants from teams. He would be nice in az that’s close.

It doesn’t serve Presti to think that way. The same way that New Orleans has no incentive to help us, OKC has none to help the Clips.

Why would the Thunder help the Clippers be good, when its in their best interest if they are bad, since they own their draft picks for the rest of the century!

Because adding Paul or not won’t matter, the picks will still be in the bottom of the draft.

C'mon man. We just brought the Larry O'Brien back to Staples.

You need attention? I have a lonely rescue dog who'd make a great addition to your family. You still my peeps.

Actually I was comparing Paul going to Sarver and the Suns with Lebron coming to Jeanie and the Lakers. Both would be taking chances on teams going nowhere.

Think about it VLF. You say LeBron went to a team going nowhere. That team won a championship to tie for the most championships in NBA history. Doesn't that kinda make your definition of a "team going nowhere" a misnomer?

In the case for CP3 coming here I'm not on board. He'd be a great basketball fit, he may not be a chemistry fit. I hope the Lakers resign Rondo.

No, the team Lebron joined was a lottery team.

Yes but a team that won a championship so it went somewhere. You said it yourself, they took a gamble. One that paid off.

Thats short term thinking. Long term is, you don't trade them CP, the Clippers flame out again next year and then Kawhi and or PG opts out. Then, The Clippers are back to being terrible and those draft picks are more valuable.

What exactly do the Clips have that OKC would want for CP3?

Zubac? Nah. They are paying Adams 25m/year.

Lou/Bev? Not exactly the guys that fit OKC's rebuild culture.

I doubt Harrell agrees to be S&T to OKC.

And oh, OKC has most of the Clips future 1st in the next 6-7 years. I don't see how they have anywhere near the assets to get CP3.

According to a league executive on the possibility of the Lakers pursuing a Chris Paul trade:

"Chris Paul would love to come back to L.A. I know it would be a dream come true for Chris...I know LeBron loves and trusts him, and he would be a good fit."

Quote:
Paul would give the Lakers a third scorer and playmaking depth, especially if they retain Rajon Rondo, who also plans to opt out, per Charania. The challenge would be the two years, $85.6 million left on Paul's contract (he can opt out of the final season but isn't likely to, given the $44.2 million payday).

Quote:
If James set his sights on Paul, the Lakers would have to send out five players: Kyle Kuzma, Danny Green and Quinn Cook, along with Avery Bradley and JaVale McGee, who need to opt into their contracts to be dealt. L.A. would also need to send its No. 28 pick in November's draft, signing that player before waiting 30 days to execute a deal in which the Lakers would offload almost $33 million in players salaries.

Maybe in a fantasy world. Ballmer won’t let the Clippers be mediocre.

I don't think VLF's a troll. He's opinionated and many times way off base but I don't think he purposely trolls. IMO he's just uninformed. He's the only mod I've ever gotten into heated debates with. I kinda like the guy.
