Derozan for Kuz and Green? Sign me up. I think the team gets better with Derozan.

Still a 22ppg scorer. Rebounding up.

I'm positive with LBJ/AD setting the tone, he will give more effort on defense b/c he's not needed to be a #1/#2 option on offense.

He's on an expiring deal too.

I'm down with it if it happens. We aren't extending Kuz, and Green is an expiring deal and looked like he was about to blow a tire.

I'd let Rondo walk if they trade for DD. Have DeRozan run the second unit when Lebron sits.

Given that Green and Kuz are in their last years with us, I think DeRozan brings more to the team than they would.

With DDR 28m salary does Green and Kuz work?

Derozan could also just opt out of his contract (27 mil). We then sign him for a one year deal promising bigger pay day later. He prob wouldn't go for this...but endorsements in LA could be a factor.

Rather have Derozan's $27 mill versus CP3's $41+ mill contract to trade for.

The negative is that you're trading two big wing defenders for a total non-defender in DD.

DeRozan's agent. Duh. The idea doesn't make a lot of sense for either the Lakers or the Spurs. But getting DeRozan's name out in the rumor mill is a good thing if DeRozan wants out of San Antonio. Connecting his name to the Lakers is a great way to be sure that the media picks up on the story.

I could be proven dead wrong on this one, but the odds are in my favor. Some of you are way too gullible about this stuff. This rumor doesn't deserve its own thread any more than the Ibaka rumor did. We'll probably get 5-10 more major rumors (and a zillion minor rumors) between now and Thanksgiving.

Lakers aren't going to extend Kuz and Green is an expiring deal. If they can do this deal, you do it. Figure out the other moving parts. When you have Lebron, you gotta pretty much go all in while he's still here. Can you imagine the pick and roll with Demar and AD? He wasn't happy in San Antonio. He will love to play in LA.

Would need to include an opted-in McGee or Bradley. I was a little disappointed when I found out Cook alone wouldn't work as another salary ballast in a potential DDR trade. Its off by 300k

Green is a plus defender. But when did kuzma become this defender to like hold onto. He improved from a big minus to being what? Mediocre on that end

Vogel’s system makes a difference, lack of responsibility for derozan will give him more energy to defend. He has the athletic ability to do so

He’s not small. He’s 6-6

Peoples justification for not wanting derozan is mind boggling lol.

Everyone hates these players, suddenly a trade comes up and they’re too much to give up

don't need another non-shooting wing player. DeRozen's game is iso, unless he fills the role as the 6th man, i don't see much benefit he's gonna bring playing in the same lineup as AD and LBJ.

DeRozen would do well as a sixth man. I think he'd feast against the opposition's second team.

How about "Peoples" like myself would rather just take a chance Green gets healthy and would rather see 1 more year of development from Kuzma than give them both for a shooting liability and a mental weakling like Derozan

As opposed to the chronically poor playoff shooter in green and the disappearing kuzma?

Precisely what I’m talking about

Mental weakling lol. Maybe as the best player

Now he’s 3rd. That makes a difference

Uhhh what

I don’t like this. The only way I think DeRozan works on this squad is as a sixth man facilitator/scorer that plays minimal minutes with LeBron (not sure that’s possible). He’d probably cost Kuz, Green and McGee, hopefully not pick 28. You also can’t play Rondo and DeRozaj together, so he wouldn’t be back

PG: James - 28 (Flynn?)
SG: Bradley - Caruso
SF: KCP - DeRozan
PF: Davis - Jeff Green (min)
C: Ibaka (MLE) - Morris/Howard (BAE)
_________________
PG: Westbrook - Nunn - Rondo
SG: Bazemore - Monk - Ellington - Bradley
SF: James - THT - Reaves
PF: Davis - Anthony - Ariza - Doumbouya
C: Jordan - Howard - Huff

Makes a difference in terms of making it even easier for him to disappear. Derozan was always viewed as soft and mentally weak. At least Green can provide positive value even if he shoots 0 for 5 just through defense and spacing alone. Derozan on nights when he isnt making shots for the Lakers, he will be useless. There will be many nights those of you clamoring for Derozan will complain about how useless he is when he isnt clicking

Sure. But you'll have free agency to address that. Getting a 22ppg playmaker is not usually an easy task. And he's on an expiring deal?

Not a lot of 3&D wings out there, but a lot of teams that want them.

DeRozan is DLo bad on defense and he'd be another non-spacer on a shooting deficient team. His 22ppg may not add anything meaningful to the offense except ending second unit scoring droughts against the Timberwolves in February.
