Pau is probably my second favorite laker of all time. Having his brother here as a contributor would be incredible.

I was thinking the same thing. The Pau and Marc farewell tour together on the Lakers.

If somehow Pau makes a big difference in being able to get Marc i'd do that. Let Pau take over the Dudley role and maybe even work with AD a bit throughout the year. Plus fans would get hyped anytime Pau got playing time in blowouts.

I'd much rather throw Pau on the coaching staff in some degree though if possible.

Getting Marc would make me instantly forget about Dwight and any other centers even though i'd happily welcome Morris as well if that's even realistic at this point.

Let’s go!!!! I mean in normal times we’d have to wait months for training camp. Now it’s a couple weeks away.

This is another great value signing!

Can anyone name a deeper Laker team than what we have now? Cause I think this might be the deepest we ever gotten.

We upgraded every position to compliment Lebron and AD.

Nice work by Pelinka. If Gasol maintains his great 3-point shooting it would really help us, plus it would (at least hypothetically) allow us to play him with Trez at the same time when needed.

Wish all the best to Javale, but I’d say Marc gives us bit of a different look with his floor spacing and large frame to throw at guys like Jokic. Like the move.

FYI it’s “bienvenido”

Welcome to the Lakers, will be a great story if you end up winning the title with the Lakers like Pau did.

I have to say, I was bummed about losing Dwight -- both for his defense and great effort on the floor, but also because of sentimentality. I really liked what he gave to the Lakers last year.

This softens the blow for sure. I think MG is actually a better match--now we have one bruiser in Trez and one big body/3 point shooter in MG. And, with a Gasol brother coming back to L.A., the sentimentality is strong too. You gotta love the Gasol family, even more after watching everything that Pau has done for Kobe's family.

Bienvenidos, tocayo!

This makes me happier than I even realized it would. When a Gasol comes to the Lakers, good things happen. Marc's got fan favorite status already built in. Can't wait for the season to get going.

40% on open threes... should get plenty of those to shoot.

So happy about this one, we needed a player with his IQ and size to compensate for losing Dwight.

We are huge again upfront with Gasol and AD.
Now can add speed with Harrell, and then when we need even more speed with size, AD at the 5, Bron at the 4.

Gasol-AD
AD-Harrell
Gasol-Harrell
AD-Bron

No team can deal with all those different looks at the 5-4.

LOVE this move.

Good value and Gasol is still an elite post defender.

Marc Gasol Valuation: $5,953,626

Gasol’s valuation here is understandable in light of the fact that he’s 36 and his offensive game mostly dried up in 2019-20, scoring just 13.6 points per 100 possessions. He’s a good passer who can camp above the 3-point line (38.5 percent last season) and keep the lane open for others, but is no longer a big threat around the basket.

However, contending teams might put a bigger price tag on him because his defensive game scales up so well to a playoff environment. He’s still one of the league’s best low-post defenders (important if, say, Joel Embiid is a potential opponent) and remains mobile and savvy enough to play any coverage scheme. Even at 35, Gasol’s defensive metrics were near the top of the league at this position.

I am ecstatic. This team is SO MUCH more talented than last year's. To think Kuzma was our third best scorer in 2020 gives me the creeps .

My long shot yet perceivable plan for next season:

- get Pau to convince Marc to get on board for his 2nd ring
- sign Gallo to the MLE
- trade Kuz and Green for Joe Ingles

Just an upgrade to a championship team. Gasol can spread the floor vs Mcgee. Gallo with more consistency and shooting than Kuz. Ingles with the ballhandling, playmaking and finishing over Danny.

Woot! Always assumed we could get Gasol for cheap that's why I wanted him over Ibaka to free up our MLE for someone else.

First move they’ve made that I’m not high on. No big deal though, they’re still light years better than any other team out there.
