Benny Mac may just be the 1 SHOOTER that comes to the Lakers and improves as a SHOOTER!

Let’s hope so. Brick Bullock suddenly learned how to make 3s again with the Knicks. Even hit 2 in a row last night.

In defense of Bullock: My wife is a Knick's fan and I have watched most of their games. I think Bullock had back problems when was with the Lakers and that impacted his shooting. He has been a very reliable shooter for the Knicks, has scored a lot of key baskets and plays good perimeter defense.

I have watched almost all of the Laker games. Per my eye test:
-I would play play the "current, healthy" Bullock over Caruso (I like Caruso), over THT (I like THT) and probably over KCP if he (Bullock) was hitting his shot, and over Mathews and Mclemore.

-Maybe it was Tibbs who brought out Bullock's defensive intensity.

KCP has hit some big shots, on THE biggest stage. Comparing Bullock to him is disrespectful, to be honest with you.

Regarding being disrespectful to KCP:

KCP made VERY key shots that helped us win the playoffs last year.

I've watched most of Bullock's games this year. It appeared to me that Bullock hit many more shots at key points in Knick games than KCP did for the Lakers this year. Just an observation.

They both play very hard on D.

I like what he's doing on the floor, I'd like to see him get more minutes. His confidence as a shooter is inspiring, because he believes in himself and that will go a long way on this team especially with LeBron and AD. He'll continue to be a great addition to this team if he keeps playing at a high-clip...
So far, I'd consider him a Great Pickup!!!

I feel like he is an underrated signing. Clearly flawed but he is better than a lot of guys he will be playing once our line up is back to normal.

BMac is the perfect back up to KCP, sniper but not as good defensively, a young taller Reddick

It's clear that the guy can catch fire from 3PT at any given moment

A good weapon to have in the playoffs

BMac has been a pleasant surprise. Wasn't expecting him to get this much run or demonstrate this kind of shooting ability. Great.

He is rarely left alone for 3. Last night, Harris or whoever stayed glued to him.

We haven’t had that type of player in a while. Even KCP is left alone on some possessions.

Benny Mac has been a really pleasant surprise of a pickup. He might have worse D than Wes, but his gravitational pull as a three-point shooter is like no-one else the Lakers have, apart from maybe KCP

He'll play some important playoff minutes for us. Kieff was such an important pickup last year, but I think it's fair to say so far Drummond/McLemore > Kieff/Waiters

So many possessions tonight where he doesn’t even look to pass and just shoots it. Know your role. 16 shots? Yikes.

Yeah, they were going for the home runs way too much in that second half especially instead of just putting together a nice run. The Wizards were basically begging them to make it competitive over and over.

Ben needs to learn that just because someone passes to him it doesn’t mean he’s open.

I can't see that happening though. I'll take effort on defense from him but KCP is a really good defender and Mac never has been. For a mid-season pick up though I'm happy with how he's played.

Ironically, B-mac currently has a better DRtng at 102.6 than KCP at 107.9 of course it’s a small sample size as a Laker and he plays 10 mins less than KCP but still worth noting.

That’s an indictment of the DRtng then. BMac, from what I’ve seen, is a terrible defender.
