We are 3 up in the loss with 4 to play, over GSW and MEM. We hold the head-to-head tie-break against both.

We win 1 of our final 4, we are 7th, going into the play in.

State will be a tough play in though.

Easily could see Curry go off and we drop that first game like we did the Portland and Houston game 1s in 2020.

Curry has been a terrible shooter against the Lakers ever since he entered the league. He can take over and win a game against other teams but a Lakers Warriors game would be a blowout.

Third time playing Phoenix as the #2 vs #7 matchup (2005-2006, 2006-2007). Hopefully a different outcome this time.

Suns would be better 1st round opponent than Jazz or Clippers. More of a margin for error there and I think they can still win that series not playing at their best yet.

Majority of the Suns roster haven't been involved in the playoffs, that should be the target

I'd honestly still rather play the Jazz unless Mitchell is coming back at 100% but regardless them or the Suns would be a huge win for a first round matchup to give us some extra time to get that chemistry going strong. Plus neither team is overly aggressive or physical which gives a little extra hope of possibly staying healthy as a unit finally.

That stat they showed in the game was insane when you think about it.. The amount of games starters have missed this season.. For the Suns it was 11 while the Lakers were well into the 80's I believe? That's not even mentioning all the bench players we had that missed good chunks as well.

I'm not worried about GSW. Steph can go crazy but that team has nothing around him, especially with Oubre out injured.

The bigger issue with the play-in is the loss of potential rest and added injury risk from the extra games.

But you have to balance that against throwing Lebron against Kawhi before he can get time to ramp up.

Personally give me GSW and the play-in, AD benefitted from extra games.

He's an all-time great, so certainly possible, but the Lakers have probably the best collection of Curry defenders in the league in KCP/Schröder/Caruso to throw at him for 48 minutes.

Not even worried about playing the Warriors. We pretty much blew them out this season (exception of the MLK game where we blew a 20 point lead) by 31 and 26 points.

And we just happen to have the right perimeter guards to contain Curry.

Plus, and it is known, Steph Curry in the playoffs, especially the finals, is a total fraud. So playoff Curry doesn’t scare me.

Even a bit of THT and his amazing arm length would be available in spot minutes.

Lakers “should “ beat the most likely first rd Warriors. But it may not be as easy as most are stating or expecting.

Have you watched them in recent games? They are almost the exact opposite of the Lakers. They are underdogs playing hard every possession and have great chemistry. They utilize Curry extremely well. The amount of defensive attention he gets is ridiculous. The Warriors are playing off that very well.

Lakers have a lot of ground to make up in just a week to match the intensity and chemistry. Other then a few glimpses, the Lakers have lacked in both areas most of the year. They are capable of doing so, will they?

Yeah the Lakers have to ramp it up a couple of levels, but the Lakers group of guards is the “worst” matchup for Curry in the league. Our guards know how to keep him in check. It’s (bleep) Wiggins I worry about going off

Some very interesting matchups this week to see who tries to maneuver for what seeding.

Along with having the right players to defend Steph, the Lakers best type of D (trapping and rotating to create turnovers) is the perfect scheme against this Warriors team. They’ll trap Steph all game and force other guys to make shots.

There’s a reason the Lakers crushed the Ws by 20-something points twice.

The game the Ws won the Lakers had a huge lead and then stopped trying.

That won’t be a problem in a play-in game. There is no way Lebron is letting this team lose to Steph and a bunch of scrubs.

Also the Lakers size inside is trouble for GS.

Lebron not playing tonight.

They need to give lots of guys the night off and take an L.

Need 2 more Ls to let PDX lock up the 6 spot.

Edit: Didn't know clips would be our first round opponent if we were the 6th seed. Nvm Blazer can have it.

Much different circumstances though. Kobe literally dragged that garbage roster to the 7th seed in the West and nearly beat that Suns team.

We are finally getting to be healthy again at just the right moment when this team if it were healthy all year, would be a 1 seed or 3rd seed at worst.

Obviously not ideal and I personally wouldn't want to go through it, but the Lakers heading into the playoffs as the 8th seed might be the path of least resistance (if playoffs started today).

Anyways just a few games left, kind of tired of the regular season already and can't wait for the post-season!

Probably preferred opponent instead of that other LA team, if we were being honest.

Okay so the Blazers lost to the Suns..

And they play the Nuggets on Sunday..

It sounds like theoretically possible for the Blazers to lose that game and the Lakers to win the next 2 & take the 6th spot?
