#7 seed v PHX is highly likely, if we win 1 play-in

Okay so the Blazers lost to the Suns..

And they play the Nuggets on Sunday..

It sounds like theoretically possible for the Blazers to lose that game and the Lakers to win the next 2 & take the 6th spot?

Not having to play extra game(s) would be nice, even if it ends up being against one of the less favorable match-ups. Extra rest instead of extra stress.

I think we deserve to be in the play in. On the bright side that might light a fire under the team who clearly has been coasting this whole time.

I think it’s works out well no matter what.
1. Denver beats Portland we win =playoffs with rest.
2. Win play in game 1= easier series 1 and still much rest.
3. Win play in game 2= easiest schedule. Round 1 Jazz/round 2 Denver or Dallas

The clippers should want us in the first round, before we evolve into our final form.

I have a feeling the team prefers getting the Clippers than having to go thru the play-ins, well then so be it

Let’s just say Dame is much more scarier than Booker after watching last nights game. They have the offense power to hang with the clippers.

It’s a matchup based problem for the Blazers. The Suns are an offensive team, they don’t have any particular defenders that scare you. Bridges has potential but he’s still young.

Unless Dame or CJ cook Rondo, that’s a very tough matchup for Portland.

The easiest matchup for the Clippers imo is the Blazers.

I don't think we need anymore rest. Lebron and AD were out for months.

If anything these guys need to play more.

Lebron especially is one of those guys that has to ramp into playoff form, remember how trash he looked early on in the bubble.

The Clippers are sitting half of the team tonight. Looks like they are willing to give the 3rd seed to Denver, and slip to 4th, instead of a potential 1st round matchup with The Lakers. Too much of a risk. They can not lose in the first round, under any circumstances, especially to the Lakers.

They should rethink that.

Clips better not sleep on Dallas or they'll be deep sea fishing sooner than expected.

PHX doesnt have the size to deter us. You saw Dame just waltz his ass to the basket with the game on the line last night? Now picture LeBron in that same situation, BBQ Chicken for the whole block.

Also, Lakers need a tune up series to get up to speed, PHX is the only team that provides that.

The Achilles heel for the suns is that their good coaching and leadership from cp3 have completely masked their big men rotation of Jae crowder/Saric/Kaminsky. Those three are severely undersized and poor defenders. AD should average a minimum of 30 points against them.

Maybe spoke too soon. Clippers down at halftime.

If the Clippers blow this game it could result in the best possible playoff scenario for the Lakers.

The Clippers losing would push Denver to the 3 seed since they have the tie breaker and their next game is against Portland. Since Denver's game on Sunday is the same time as the Clippers game they can't afford to assume Clippers will lose and will have to play to win.

As long as the Lakers take care of business in their last two games they not only could avoid the play in, it's an absolutely realistic scenario where the Lakers face Denver in the first round and then Phoenix or Portland in the second round. All ideal matchups for the Lakers. Then in the conference finals they get likely either Utah or the Clippers assuming the Clips don't get bounced in the first round with a tough Dallas matchup. Clippers are down 13 in the 3rd, to the rockets.
Denver beat Detroit.

If the clippers lose, Denver moves to the 3rd seed

It’s a chefs kiss until you realize that denver is likely going to rest starters on Sunday and terry stots will run Lillard 40+ minutes if needs to get the win. Denver winning on Sunday is highly unlikely considering denver basically playing their bench today vs pistons.

I’m all for hoping denver wins on Sunday now, but we have to be somewhat realistic about that expectation.

It feels like LAC has decided they want to be 4th. They basically intentionally lost tonight and all they need to do is lose again and they are 4th, whether DEN beats or loses to POR on Sunday...I am a little surprised, but maybe they much prefer DAL to POR in Rd 1 and they avoid us in Rd 2, assuming we get past PHX. I must say I am surprised.

Denver being a 4th seed vs the Mavs or a 3seed and playing the Lakers. Pretty easy for Denver to mail it in and play the Mavs instead from a motivation standpoint.

Denver rested some players tonight but neither of their top two players in Jokic or Porter. Against a team as bad as the Pistons there's no reason to assume that Denver mailed this game in and the result reinforces that.

I also wouldn't assume that the Nuggets would mail in the game against the Blazers and throw away what could potentially be home court advantage against the Clippers, should they both make the conference finals, as well as a theoretically easier opponent in Phoenix versus Utah in the second round just to dodge the Lakers in round 1.
