Simple as this Ad at the 5, LBJ coming downhill, and shooters spreading the floor.

Defensively I’m starting to think Vogel’s double teams and traps are hurting us more.

Yes, give B-Mc & Gasol some run

Less AD2 & Kuz

Teams are clogging the paint on us, and we are clogging ourselves. Frustrating to say the least.

Vogel’s defense is very good at limiting stars especially as the series go on. The suns only scored 99 points. It is our offense that didn’t get it done. The whole point of AD at 5 is because of the traps.
Playing Marc or even starting him would be a very good adjustment

He tried to win this game with defense alone. My problem is that limits our offense to the point where the trade off may not be worth it.

So far we have played two games where the teams had one scoring threat, Curry and Booker( after cp3 injury). I think sending two guys to blitz broke down our defense time and time again.

We need to play Marc and Morris much more. This with Trez and AD2 will just not work.

I know his defense is terrible, but at this point I’d rather BMac get some minutes. Spread the offense let LBJ be able to drive, AD being a rim threat and a shooter you have to respect. Keiff just hasn’t shown that this year.

Space is meaningless if people don't hit their shots.

Lots of open shots ended up as bricks in this game.

Defense wasn't great but it was good enough to keep us in a game where we played like poopoo for 48 minutes

Yes people didn’t make their shots, but space is definitely important. It gives your better players better looks at the rim.

Drive, kick, pump fake, ect ...all of a sudden you get better looks. Yea he have two stars, but handing them ball doesn’t just get you the win.

No room to drive if we are compounding our issue by clogging our own paint. It’s just today’s game.

Like some other posters said here, they should run pick n roll with AD2 to avoid him clogging the paint, as a roll man the defense can't sag on him.

But I still prefer Gasol as startet for more spacing.

I mean seriously, why would an opponent ever give us the paint when KCP is the only shooter in the starting rotation?

I think we are 100% capable of winning the next 4 but this is what needs to happen imo.

We need to leverage what makes us special, LeBron can play PG at 6"8. Davis can play C and cause all kinds of issues by pulling away opposing centers and allowing our PG (LBJ to penetrate at will).

Dennis can not be on the floor witb Davis + Bron. He is pounding the ball and usually gets nowhere because of the lack of spacing.

PG.KCP
SG.Matthews
SF.LeBron
PF.Morris
C.Davis

On defense lets go back to switching everything, everyone is 6"6 + and the suns have no1 that can post up.

On offense hunt down Booker and CP3 and post them up. Lets expose their lack of size at the guard spot.

Off the bench our unit should be

PG.Dennis
SG.Caruso
SF.Mclemore
PF.Kuzma
C.Gasol

Have dennis attacking down hill from the gasol high p&r and finding shooters.

swing the ball from side to side, if the close out is aggressive drive in, if not shoot or swing the damn ball.

Trez can play in small spurts because he brings it on offense but its hard to play him due to his lack of shooting and lack of defense at C.

ALWAYs maintain 2-3 shooters on the floor. I dont want to see

Caruso
THT
Kuzma
Trez

out there together, wtf is this?

Dennis
KCP
LeBron
Davis
Drum

is just not enough shooting. You use that line up if you are up 10-15 points and want to waste clock time.

I also think LeBron has become a better play maker off the block than off pick and roll.. there is no answer for him there and it usually results in him going to the FT line and spending less energy.

Another thing I have noticed is only Caruso is full court pressing ...

Rondo does this every single trip down the court and so did bradley.

It helps alot when their offense spends 3-4 seconds trying to bring the ball up

We need Schroeder to lock in defensively. As the games go by, I want to see more and more of Caruso (playing the right way) and less of DS. Also, we need more Gasol and less of Trezz. Screw the Klutch politics - Marc's passing, defense and 3pt shooting are all much needed especially now during playoff time.

Game was almost unwatchable cause of this.

I like this idea. At least I can see some hope of it working with a hobbled Bron.

Really love what we did tonight. And I undertake our identity and defense and paint scoring. At what point do we start to worry about the three point shooting?

This series maybe not so much, but this could kill us. Last year KCP and Keiff stepped up. Someone has to imo.

When was the last time we had a reliable 3 point shooting role player? It's hard for me to even think of one...we've certainly had a lot of players coming in with a reputation and track record, but there is some lakers vortex it seems because they come here and they shoot like crap.....one reliable 3 point shooter and this team would destroy opponents consistently

I want to say Space Cadet. That lost dude could really shoot and his % with the Lakers reflect that. Space Cadet is probably our best 3 shooter in the past 15 years. Fisher is up there as well in terms of spot up shooting ability.

For one season The Machine was pretty good too (42.9%).

That one year , he was in a tear. Still very grateful for draining those game 7 free throws.
