I still remember the Lakers vividly after winning the 2009 WCF. In the team photo, it looked like they wanted to dump the WCF trophy in the trash. Kobe even said that second place means you're the first loser after the 08 loss to Boston.
The Suns are a young team, and they'll learn from this. One thing to note is that making the finals again is never guaranteed. Some teams only get there once and take decades to come back (after 3-4 rebuilds). I'm not sure if the Suns still have a window.
That had to be CP3's last real chance if he stays in Phoenix
So much went right for these two teams to be in the Finals.
Unless he walks away from the money and ring chases with the Lakers or Nets, this is it.
And he would be an idiot to walk away from that much money.
Maybe so. But he's made a lot of money in his career (supposedly $250M+) and he seems to be a die-hard competitive who would actually consider doing it if he wants to win a championship above all else. Does he want to be remembered and talked about like John Stockton/Karl Malone/Charles Barkley?
At this point he's playing for legacy. He's near the end of the road, so we'll find out what he values more. A championship, or money.

If Chris Paul leaves, then suddenly they become a first round exit team.
Lakers, Nuggets, Warriors, and Jazz would all clearly be better. Even Kawhi-less Clippers and Mavericks might be. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
Poor Suns.
I think CP3 stays, but if he leaves I'm not sure the Suns will find a good enough replacement to make it back.
It sucks for them because DA and Mikal might get max type money while not being max type players, imo. Sucks for them. But makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!
I get it but comparing us, mj and a few other to anyone else is ridiculous. We expect to win rings or its a fail. the suns got swept up in the mania. i assume if they did it next year it would be different. _________________ Kobe.

Yeah… That was a bad look. I made a comment about it somewhere in this thread when it happened. I get they’re happy and everything and reaching the WCF was definitely an accomplishment but it wasn’t the final destination so throwing a parade was a bit much. Oh well. Maybe they can do it again next year except they won’t because we’ll be WCF champs next season so oh well.
He is SOOOO Happy to say FIFTY "FIFTY!"
One of the very best days of his life for sure
LeBron restructures his contract? and we sign Giannis, AD. Lebron.. FTW
Freak is amazing on so many levels. So happy for him
LOL! Life is good for the Freak. I am happy for him. What I realized during this post season is that everyone is fair game. If you can crap on the Freak, you can do it to anybody. I was very surprised at the hate. Talking about his fake mean mugging, his peers saying he has no skills, etc. This dude seems like a genuine nice dude like Hakeem was. Good for him!
I mean I’m sure if you look back at MJ, Kobe and LBJ’s first CF win they’re celebrating too. Doing something for the first time [in your career] is always going to be special. And it was also the city’s first in like 30 years.
“We might never win another one. It's fine. We did it. We did what we're supposed to do. And I’d rather do it this way — win one this way than go somewhere else in a super team and win two or three.”
I don't know about that fam.
Ideally you want to win multiple rings with your drafted team.
I respect your choice, but if the choice is 1 or 3, I gotta go with the latter. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!

Seems a very in the moment type comment.
He will probably change his tune when narratives inevitably come up again and people start saying the only reason he got 1 was because the favorites were too injured (Nets, Lakers, Clippers).

Spoiler alert: it’s money. He didn’t help change the CBA to enable him and Lebron to ink massive contracts in their sunset years to give it up now. At best, he opts out to re-ink for a multiple year long term contract (3 year/100 million minimum, IMO) and maybe tries to force a sign and trade. Pretty much a zero percent chance he signs for a MLE or mini-mle level contract.

A lot harder to win a series when the other team’s superstar player doesn’t go down with an injury that takes them out of the series. Even against Denver, Denver didn’t lose a superstar, but Jamal Murray is an all star at the very least and is their second best player.

It's inexcusable.
The weirdest thing about these finals is that there was only one game where the Bucks looked like the clear-cut better team.
Suns were clearly better in games 1 and 2
Bucks were clearly better in game 3
The rest of the games were evenly matched, despite Giannis putting up godly numbers.
I guess it's indicative of how far the 3pt shot has come, and teams can straight up trade 2s for 3s without missing a beat.
People will say the Suns were inexperienced, but CP3 and Crowder have played in 200+ combined playoff games. The onus was on them to reel guys like Booker and Ayton in.
The Bucks won it because the Suns didn't adjust. Bud ran circles around Monty. Booker played with tunnel vision and refused to make plays for his teammates. CP3 didn't take advantage of the PnR schemes. Ayton needed TONS of lobs thrown to him when the Bucks went small. They made all these silly mistakes that cost them the series.
