Hey these guys have to cover the spread. They have to keep their backers happy so that they can put food on the table.

But yeah, I'm sure Donaghy was the lone bad apple and there's nothing to see here with the atrocious and inconsistent calls....

...are like some of those "roughing the passer" flags in the NFL. The leagues are protecting their assets and their strong selling points, but it doesn't change the fact things are softer. It also makes some of the statistical comparisons across eras invalid. Not apples to apples.
