The Indiana Pacers were among several teams who had interest in adding former Knicks and Grizzlies coach David Fizdale to their coaching staffs, league sources told @hoopshype. Now, Fizdale will reunite with LeBron James on the Lakers, replacing Jason Kidd, as @wojespn reports. |

Lebron connection.

Pretty clear that this was a LBJ position which went from Kidd to Fiz. By all accounts, the Fiz offensive schemes were oversimplified in NY, so i donโt see him as helping the offense, which is still a need of the coaching staff. _________________ Darvin |

The offense was fine when we won the championship. Maybe it's the players? _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

Really good interview from the Undefeated with Fiz. I forgot that he coached Gasol. _________________ ๐๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ #18!!! |

Sometimes a coach is only as good as his players capabilities to be coached. |

I think he's a good fit for the players and coaching staff. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you betterโ |

Awesome! Yet another former head coach whose specialty is (supposedly) defense.
Giving us:
Vogel
Hollins
Fizdale
Offensive gurus:
..
โฆ.
Great hire, Rob!! |

Fizdale actually contributed a lot to opening up Miamiโs offense and brought pace and space to Memphis. Heโs a very good offensive mind who also happens to be defensively oriented as a head coach. Looks like a very good match because he will be simpatico with Vogel on defense, is known by and admired by LeBron, and can bring some offensive wrinkles to the team. _________________ โWe must always take sides. Fiz is good. Maybe not head coach material, but def elite asst. coach. A winner and a coach that players like.

End thread after this super comment (that will likely be ignored by many). |
