who wants to keep Russel Westbrook? Unless the Lakers will bring in CP3 or Lillard, I would say we keep RW.

Depends on who we can get for him, if it improves the team, yes, we should trade him, but if it is for someone like wall, I’d pass. Not super high on Simmons either, and pretty sure Philly won’t make that trade. If we package THT with NUNN, we will be pretty thin at play making especially no more rondo now. Reaves and monk can do it for short spurts, but not as the true backup PG. WB is also ultra durable.

Monk and Simmons himself with LBJ would be enough playmaking to justify taking Ben's elite defense, passing and young prime. It would also help compensate for the shooters with no defense like Melo, Ellington or any buyout shooter. Ben isn't realistic, but the thought of him and AD helping Frank have a great defense again is our best chance.

I don't know any team taking Russ. If it brought Ben Simmons I would do it as Ben is far less careless and plays elite defense. Further he brings size and can guard the front court allowing you to go small plus he is a very good rebounder. Russ gets rebounds but sometimes at the expense of playing defense.

I don't know where the thought of Dame or CP3 comes from, because the type of High either of those GMs would have to be on to even talk about a deal for those players, would be on the COSMIC LEVEL, so it ain't happening!

Realistically RW only goes to a team who is playoff bound, willing to take on his salary and feel that they have enough problems to off-load and take on someone of Westbrook's style and effort, or a team rebuilding looking to shake things up.

The only team(s) with that is the 76ers or Detroit, everyone else is good!

Indiana isn't really a possibility, because they have a legit PG in Brogdon and I'm sure wouldn't want to mess that up. No other team would even be close or willing to take on his salary alone.

Cunningham in Detroit is more of a SG to me, so there maybe a possibility there...

As much as I want him to go, something tells me we're stuck with him this season as he has 2 years, so hopefully we can make the best of it!

I don't understand why you feel a need to start a new thread for someone like this. You have an opinion about Westbrook -- put it in the Westbrook forum. Check your ego and quit imagining your opinion is so special it needs to be its own thread with a click-bait headline.

Westbrook has had a better season than Lillard thus far.

Think about that.

Because he does more than just scoring. When Lillard isn't scoring, he isn't that much of a threat to opposing team and his team suffers. Not the same for Westbrook; he scores, assists, and rebounds (some times at the expense of defense, but he attacks when he does, getting the opposing defense off balance).

There are things I don't like about Westbrook; like his tunnel vision, meaning: not just taking it himself and ignoring teammates, but when he keys in on 1 player and doesn't survey the floor. Resulting in him forcing it to that 1 player. Careless turnovers, low IQ plays, but I would rather him than Lillard because Lillard can become a liability when he is not scoring.

Let's just lock the main WB thread and keep this one open. Dude doesn't need too many threads.

Oh boy, now we are saying WB is better than Dame.

Dame is having one of his worst seasons . Yet

Damian Lillard has averaged 24.0 points, 7.3 assists , 4.1 rebounds and 2.9 Turnovers in 29 games this season.

Russell Westbrook has averaged 19.5 points, 8.4 assists , 8.2 rebounds and 4.6 turnovers in 37 games this season.

Russ has 1 assist per game more at the same time he has 2 more turnovers. Dame gets doubled almost all the time where as Westbrick is left wide open to shoot. Dame is not playing with LBJ by his side. If we just switch Dame and Russ, Lakers would be top 4 seed.

Russ is overall -48 for the season where as Dame is -30.

Cool, now someone just need to convince Philly. Why wouldn’t they go after dame or even CJ + Roco? They will never agree anyways.

I don't mind keeping him for a year or two... especially if we get fleeced even harder the next trade, but what I don't want to see is him getting an extension.

I feel bad for him as he's an LA guy and UCLA player but the worst thing that can happen is that we have a fluke playoff run... the front office starts feeling themselves again... and then it's extensions all around for LBJ and Russ.

I hope we win the title... or completely implode.

A fluke run deep into the playoffs but not all the way is the worst thing that can happen.

It will make those who don't know what they are doing, actually think they know what they are doing and that's the worst case scenario.

Yeah you might be the only guy. I want no part of that 47 million dollar option that guy has. That salary by itself will handicap our offseason.

If you want to keep Westbrook, be prepared to have 90% veteran minimum scrubs on the roster. So 37-38 year old LBJ, injury prone AD, and 47 million dollar ninja turtle with a bunch of scrubs and released players.

Next season is gonna be fun....right?.........

He’s a Laker and no one else wants him so i’m resigned to having him stay and prove the haters wrong.

I don't disagree. Too many TOs, and his salary is a killer, but the dude is energy.

Every time i see WB play i think of that scene in Deer hunter where they play Russian roulette.

But instead of two bullets it's basically 5 bullets.
